I don't remember how many times this client has failed IUI or IVF or natural approach. This client has a very positive thinking and each time after she had a miscarriage, she will quickly recoperate both physically and mentally, she used to be an athlete and engaged in very competitive sports. I have tried everything, acupuncture, herbs, prickling method, anything I can imagine to help, but always seems like there is a hurdle I can't overcome with. Thanks to my new nutritional ACT (advanced clinical training), I suddenly found out there were so many scars hidding in the places they shouldn't be. The Duckie's Halloween Story

My 6 years old daughter always asks me to tell her stories about ducks when I supervise her to play the piano every day.If I fight with her to not to tell any story just focus on playing, she will quit playing in one minute and looked at me in a challenging eye with madness in her face. Over and over this happened I know both of us couldn't win so I had to think about making up different stories, because the same story told by me made me crazily bored and I just couldn't tolerate anymore. Here is the seasonal Halloween story I told her, and ducks are her favorite creature so each time I have to tell a duck story. Here is the story I made up: Long time ago in a duckie village there lived many duckies, mom ducks, daddy ducks and lots of baby ducks. In one house at the corner of the village, where there was an oak tree and a wandering river, there are four ducks, mom duck, daddy duck, duck brother and duck sister. At the night of Halloween, all baby ducks will dress up like ghosts, witches or animals to trick or treat. The duck brother decided to be a pirate with one black eye patch and carried a sharp sword. The duck sister, however, want to dress like a flower girl, wearing an apron like dress, had a curly brim hat and carrying a big bamboo basket full of fresh flowers like rose, primrose and tulips. The darkness is closer and closer, and you can smell the exploding excitedness and desire in the air from the duck village. The brother duck and the sister duck went first to Mr. Lazy's house. Mr. Lazy is a lazy duck with everyday spending on his huge couch with a wood desk besides the couch full of pizza, corn crakers and fish cakes. And all day long he will watch TV from one chanel to another without leaving his couch. He would have a phone at his hand and called the food delivery all day long. The problem was no ducks ever seen his garbage disposed on time.It was not hard to imagine when the duck sister and the duck brother knocked his door what was going to be expected.No answer. No Sound of any effort made to open the door. Looked like nobody at home but the TV was on and nobody knowed where Mr. Lazy was.The sister duck and brother duck looked and looked and finally they saw a note on the front door: The candy is on the back of the porch, help yourself and forget to close the fence door. The duck brother and duck sister quickly ran to the back porch and found a big bucket of candies, some were from last year with ants bites and Mr. Lazy even didn't bother to throw them away. The two ducks picked one fresh one and close the fence door, then ran to Mr. Greedy's house. Mr. Greedy was a famous merchant but very greedy and thrifty about anything he owned. No baby duck ever could get any candy from him. This time the duck sister and the duck brother decided to trick him. They bypassed Mr. Greedy's house, behind his door, Mr. Greedy saw the ducks left, he was very surprised and a little disappointed because he didn't have a chance to let down the ducks without giving anything. The ducks ran to Mr. Nice's house instead. Mr. Nice is good at good deeds and always gave more candies than the ducks wanted. He decorated his front deck with colorful lights, beautiful chrysanthemums and several huge pumpkins on the steps. The two ducks got lots of fancy new style candies and ran to Mr. Bad's house. Mr. Bad didn't like kids at all. And he liked to scare the duck babies. Right in front of his house, he digged a deep pit covered with leaves and tree branches so no duck would know it was a trap. At the bottom of the pit, some candies with worms inside stay in a basket with pretty wrapping paper.The sister duck and brother duck almost slipped into the trap when they were saved by a cherry tree on the side. The brother duck used his sword to remove the branches and leaves, then they found the hidden candies in the pit. They got those candies and brought them to Mr. Greedy's house. They left their candy container and Mr. Bad's candy to the front deck of Mr. Greedy's house, then they pushed the ring bell. Mr. Greedy came out and saw the candy box, he was very excited, "Yes, this is my lucky day and I got this free candies." He couldn't wait to start to throw the candies into his mouth. Quick enough, some weird feeling in his mouth made him wander why the candy so juicy, when he pulled the candy out he found a worm's leg wiggling in his hands. The next thing the duck brother and the duck sister heard was the scary screaming they ever heard from Mr. Greedy's House.

Recently I combined a very powerful tool to my current acupuncture practice and I started to see some healing miracles in 2 weeks. One client came with sinus infection and headache for a week and felt fatigue, when I checked her, the heart showed up as the most emergent organ to deal with, then I put a heart point for her, immediately the sinus felt improvement in one second. Another pancreas cancer patient came in who suffered severe pain in the abdomen and lower back, even Morphin can't knock it off, I checked her and her left kidney showed up as an immediate organ to deal with, so I put a needle for her left Kidney and the pain level subsided from 8 to 3 immediately. Atlanta MS Center Talk About Acupuncture

I was invited by the support group in Atlanta MS Center to talk about acupuncture on 08-23-2011 evening. It was a lovely group of women with MS and very curious about natural healing. The suggested talks was about 20 minutes and surprisingly this group had lots of interest and questions for me so we kept on and on for almost 2 hours. One of my client who suffered from MS (multiple sclerosis) had a good relief from acupuncture to get rid of the band feeling and became an active advocate for acupuncture. I showed the needles and meridian model to the group and some really got excited about it. Overall all, I wish the insurance company can have more coverage for the MS society because in many ways acupuncture can improve the quality of the people whose life had gone through dramastic change because MS and to the medical society it is still a big mystery.

Homeopathic Seminar and Bioenergetic Medicine

Last Friday and Saturday I went to a homeopathic seminar and this seminar talks a lot about bioenergetic medicine and it is pretty eye opening. I met other 44 doctors from all over the country and shared with each other about some healing work including biofeedback, EAV test, muscle test (which I had 2 seminar training before and will go to another nutrition muscle testing seminar in Florida from 08-11-2011 to 08-14-2011), the way I like the seminar is that I learned the most from the attendees, one Chiropractor I met from previous 2 seminars show me the NAET technique, a quick technique to eliminate allergies, and also a technique to get rid of fear, and muscle testing is another topic we shared. You can pretty much get anything you like to know through muscle testing (except for pregnant women if you want to tell if it is a boy or girl, your body won't tell you). And a lady I met who practices Iridology, by reading the eye many health issues will unwind by fixing the unique findings like parasites, heavy metals, etc. And the #1 reason for infertility is toxicity build up, especially through oral route, 85% of health issues are related to our mouth, for example, dental work and fillings, Jaw or TMJ issues just name a few. There are 12 regualar meridians and 8 extra meridians in our body, the regular meridian runs through our surface of the skin and penetrates to our internal organs, by connecting different body parts, a lot of disease can be explained why they happen in a group of signs but belong to one energy system imbalance while western medicine may see each sign of the group a different system problems. To keep in short, if you want to seek a complicated explaining to a simple sign, western medicine may give you as detailed guessing as possible from X-Ray to hormone and blood test to genetic DNA and RNA mutation, but if you look for a simple solution to a complicated sign then Eastern medicine can give you the satisfication. 1 a.m. to 3a.m.------LIVER TIME. 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.----Large Intestine (COLON) TIME. This time most people suppose to go to the restroom to have the first bowel movement of the day, if not, that shows the sluggish metabolism and not enough toxins out from the Liver, so some autoimmune disease like Lupus may happen and mostly happened are sinus congestion, weight gain and skin problems like eczema, allergies, psoriasis, etc.
7 a.m. to 9 a.m.------STOMACH TIME. Breakfast is the most important meal since from 7 to 9 a.m. the stomach needs some food to digest so that energy can be produced as a result.
9a.m. to 11 a.m.------SPLEEN TIME. 11 a.m to 1 p.m.------HEART TIME. Heart time is in the middle of the day just like heart chakra is in the middle of the 7 chakras. The function of heart is not only associated with circulation and maintaining blood pressure but also related to sleep, mood of joy and happiness, memory and focus, etc. If a person has insomnia and poor sleep, this will be the ideal time to take a nap.
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.------SMALL INTESTINE TIME. Small intestine handles seperation between clear and muddy. It runs through shoulder and ear, If a person suffers bad odor in the armpit, edema or swollen ankle or jaundice, shoulder pain and ear ringing, it all can be associated with SI imbalance.
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.------BLADDER TIME. Bladder meridian is the longest meridian in the body and covers all the neck, shoulder, back, back of the sacrum,thigh and knee (gastronemius muscle), inner eye. So most people sitting or typing all day long will feel the fatigue and lower back pain at this time.

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.------KIDNEY TIME. Kidney in Chinese relates to maternal or in born energy, can relate to one's family history and genetic constitution. From the ear you can see how is the function of the kidney. People with small kidney also has small ear, which also relates to a hard childhood. Kidney detox water soluable toxins like antibiotics. And kidney and liver also are related to hormone and fertility, that explains why more and more infertility happened today #1 reason is the result of toxins build up from environment so slowed down th efunction of liver and kidney to support hormone and fertility function.
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.------PERICARDIUM TIME. Pericardium is the membrane outside heart to protect heart so it is also considered to the chest and digestion, because its energy is fire, like cooking food in a stove, the energy from pericardium support digestion and support emotion similar to the haert.
9 p.m. to 11 p.m.------TRIPLE WARMER TIME. I call this the 911 in the evening. It is similar to lymphatic system and handles water and other liquid recycling which makes our body function more efficiently. This energy relates to blood pressure problem and also connects to kidney energy.

2 Unexpected Quick Pregnancy News Today

While I was doing my routine note taking today, one client who is over 41 years old called me and told me she was pregnant for almost 10 weeks, I treated her a month ago and she has failed IVF and had high FSH over 11. She also had limb injuries and poor circulation and tons of stress. I just love the story of potential babies, because personally I had fight infertility issues myself for 14 years. Finally I had two children in 14 years, a rate can match the birth rate of the pandas. Each time I see a client pregnant I felt like I won another battle over infertility and it is also like I won a lottery although in my real life I never win any lottery. Weight Loss Client Lost 85 Lbs

The Client who lost 69 Lbs continue to lose more weight, so far lost 85 Lbs since 04-29-2011 in about 2 months.There is 3 weeks' break in June for a long trip so total had 15 visits, in average lose 5.67 Lbs per visit. Our goal is to continue to drop the weight more than 170 Lbs, don't know how long it will take but we got a pretty good start. The most changes are less cravings, feeling of handling stress better, feeling of more self control and a sense of well being and more confidence. Still not much time to exercise due to work schedule and if in combination with a personal trainer, I think the result can be much more. The Client Made me Jealous------lost 69 LBs in a Month

Believe it or not, now I have to look at the weight loss work I have done for one of my client, who lost 69 LBs in a month. I am so jealous of him but at least this encourage me to work harder in the pathway to become slimmer. Recently I went to 5 seminars in the past 3 month to learn some new technique about balancing hormones, the knowledge and skills I learned just gave me some new ideas about how delicate our hormone system functions. The adrenal gland, which is the time sensitive and controlling gland, which plays crucual role in tuning our day to day operation at an accurate level, and if responding too much to stress like most of us do, the adrenal fatigue may happen as a result of overworking and insomnia can happen. Especially combined with menopause the impact may double or triple. The thyroid function can be effected a lot by environment change or pollutions, like too much fluoride or cholorine can compete the idione so that the thyroid function may be reduced. Think about the fluoride toothpaste and chlorine in the swimming pool and watering system and chlorine may trigger children's asthma. So we have to constantly detox and supplement with proper level of minerals to support our normal function. My Weight Loss Progress------Water Miracle

I hate to say this but for a long long time I had trouble to lose even one pound, but the weight goes up easily with ages. And I even suspect I could ever lose weight for my current lifestyle, I am a laid back person and hate routine work out, but I likes walks, and I don't like sweets naturally which is a bless. One day when I looked at myself in the mirror and looked at a beautiful dress with black rose lace decoration which I had trouble to fit in before and, I decide in order for me to fit in the dress I have to cut my weight. I tried almost everything I could think of ( still almost 20 or 30 supplements in my closet during my experimental trial) and no luck. Then I suddenly thought of my hexgonal water making machine. I got it for many years and forgot about it. Then I started drinking it everyday for about a month or 2, now I dropped almost 10 Lbs, and the trend still keep going, one happy thing for me, I fitted the dream dress without worrying about tearing it inside. One client I worked with weight issues before told me that many years ago with my help doing acupuncture and herbs and ear staples, he lost 80 Lbs. Now after lots of stress and craings came back and started to gain weight. I started to work with him again and he lost 10 Lbs after one acupuncture session and in a month he lost 20 Lbs. Thoughts of Life-----Death, Babies and Others

Recently I constantly heard the news of death around me, then I asked God what this message is for in the universe. One day when I treated one female client in the table, she got a phone call from her student, one 19 year old man, they suppose to have lunch after her acupuncture session. She told me that this young man's mom just died of being shot today and he found out that he got end stage lymphoma. Her tears just couldn't stop because he was such gentle and wonderful person. Another story was from one of my good friend, who told me that there was a boy around 10 or 11 years old, who went to the same Chinese after school learning center with her daughter, suicided at his home in the closet with a belt around his neck. He was excellent in school, good at playing baseball and won a first prize with piano. Before his suicide, he asked his mom what to do if demon takes him away, his mom, who believes Taoism told him that his life would come back if that happened. And the truth is that never happens. Lady J died on black Friday last week at age almost 101. Her life is quite an encoragement to me and we used to work in the same office. She escaped Nazi's torture in the 1939 and took the last passenger ship to the US from Italy. She got her college degree at almost 60 years old and learned to use computer at age 85, and worked as a bookeeper till 97 years old. Her husband used to be the biggest private seashell collector in the world. I love seashells and maybe that is why she was attracted into my life. At the same time I am busy working on my fertility clients, just looked like suddenly lots of my female clients want to get babies. That is the rule of the universe---old energy gone with replacement of the new ones. In my gardens, I bought two pomgranate trees whose names are Angel Red. They suppose to bear fruits the first year that is why I paid almost $400.00 because of my laziness to see the fruits. The first year after I planted them, they grew beautifully green leaves and no fruits; Second year, after they sprouted, a frost hit Georgia and they both died. I felt so sad to see all my expectations gone overnight and soon my husband's family lost one member---his mom, died of Parkinson's. He was very sad for a while and then we started to try to conceive our second child. Soon we succeeded. Now my son Richard. G is almost 8 months old and he is very healthy and active blessed by God, since I had 3 miscarriages before so the second pregnancy I prayed everyday to God to save him to the maturity date. Although the birth was a little bit more difficult compared to the first one and I suffered the lower back pain from the Epidural, I am still very thankful that by the end I got him out safely. Because I know too many stories that stillborn happened around 8 month of pregnancy. Fertility Story----High FSH, PCOS and Uterine Lining

Recently I stopped charting the data and analysis for my infertility clients because since my last update in the website in 2008, I found out another acupuncturist stole my data idea and copied nicely to her website without my authorization. So if anybody saw the data till 2008 don't feel surprised, that doesn't say I only treated the infertility cases before 2008, I am successful in treating the cases till now and I won't stop in the future either. Because personally I had the fertility issues myself, struggling for over 14 years, and finally I had two kids, the rate is even harder looking compared to the panda babies. My blog is a unique one and nobody can copy it easily and quickly (I believe I can create more quickly and refreshed since I constantly go to professional seminars to learn anything new),so this is the most updated info from my clinic.
I had a female client who had high FSH (FSH=12) in her mid forties,she was referred to me by her friend manys years ago and she just switched to see me from another acupuncturist, and you can expect that one day she came to me looked super stressed, the answer was on her face---the doctor say no to her IVF because the doctor think her egg reserve was low and egg donor was the only option. The same story happened to her sister, the same doctor refused to do the IUI because she thought it won't work. Guess what? After her sister begging and begging, the only IUI she did was successful. And the doctor just thought she palyed the luck game and wouldn't accept she was wrong. I looked at her and checked her and worked on her with acupuncture and herbs, about a couple of visits her FSH dropped to 7. And her looks started to show the youth (that is the most exciting part I like to work on people is to rejuvenate, some clients feel like babies after the treatments) and she is so feminine soft good looking ( I like to use the word feminine because lots of women include me are not feminine as we suppose to be due to stress). And both she and I look forward and excited about each session we meet to bring her health to the next level. I have 2 PCOS clients, very interesting, both of them don'tr have ovulation and skipped cycles, one received clomid and do acupuncture and the other one just do acupuncture once a week and take my prescribed herbs religiously. They both conceived in a month or two naturally, the first one had twins and the second one I didn't know the story till one day near Christmas, I got a card from her saying that one egg splitted into two and she ended up to have a twin as well. I am so grateful to work with them and so happy to see their baby dreams come true. Another client, a family friend of a well known fertility specialist, although the fertility doctor has one acupuncturist on site, she doesn't like him however. When I prepared her to her IVF, her uterine lining is 5cm, I gave her acupuncture and 2 days later the utering lining is 7 cm, at her doctor's request I treated her another time and her utering lining is 9 cm. Now she is preganant with a twins. I wish God give me more responsibility and more miracles to bring more babies and more joy to our world.

HIV Positive to HIV Negative

This is the second case I treat successfully and the patient who has HIV positive has the test result of HIV negative after a few treatments. I don't think I have such strong power to play and change around people's health like a magician, although some clients said I had magical hands, I only accept the part that I had a better luck, that is all. God has the most healing power, and I am his servant and follower who witnessed the miracles, that is what I think about my job to help people in need. The first patient I treat several years ago who had both HIV positive and hepatitis C was a very slim gentleman, when I worked with him and run a couple of tests I found out that he had parasites as well. After cleansing his liver and supplemented him lots of antioxidants and visit me with acupuncture once a week for a couple of month, his HIV test and hepatitis test both came back negative. Till today he still lives a healthier life and do well personally and professionally. The other gentleman came to me to gain some weight and muscle strength, he looked unhealthfully thin, which shows the poor immune reaction he may have. I worked on him using acupuncture once a week and supplements him some herbal remedies, about a month or 2, his HIV test came back normal and he gained quite a bit of muscle size, he is very happy now. Of course I am happy too.

Recently the Earth we live on has never been into such chaoes like before in human history. Although the most are from natural disasters like earthquake, Tsunami and volcano eruption, they also come from the war and nuclear pollution caused by human activities. The more active change of the global environment is far beyond control and sadly speaking, no proven method can reverse the change based on current science and knowledge. It is sort of like a new disease spreading out within us but nobody knows what it is and how to cure it. No immunization exists whatsoever. According to Maya calendar, 2012 is the end. (of the calendar or the world? Nobody knews). Some people even spread out the word that 05-15-2010 is the end of the world according to Bible study (who knows is it true or not? One joke saying that at least after 05-15-2010 if we are still alive then that must mean we got saved by God.). I haven't watched TV for several years or listened to the radio for several years, because too much irritability and brainwashing in a junky way. It interferes the way you are thinking and behaving, we got enough trouble in the world and we don't need more fear anymore. One easy and useful way you can do is to prioritize and simplify the life. Is it necessary to know what is going on? Yes, but you can get the info from the papers or internet in a way you can walk away or turn it off if you don't like it, the choice and power is in your hands. I do believe that our world is going through the power shift, in a good way. We got the most stress from changes, because we are so used to and so comfortable with what we used to have, which not even belong to us although we assume so. Any change any people will think losing first, but no pain no gain, only change can provide us the opportunity to experience something new. No other way around. We will get something in reward. What most people believe or follow may not necessary true, the truth always is held by a few of the people. So think this way in this chaotic world: If 2012 is so close to the end of life, what are you going to do today? What is the most important you want to achieve today, and do it NOW!

How much wood would wood chuck chuck

There is a song, a beautiful American folk song: "How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?". Each time when I listened to my 6 years old daughter playing this song in a piano, my thought is like "how much unwanted wood energy an acupuncture needle would remove if the needle could remove that energy?". Interesting enough, more and more wood type people I happened to see in my daily practice. How I define the "wood type" people, those are the people who have trouble to make decisions, who are capable to start multiple projects but have trouble finishing them, who are suffereing a foggy thinking, and have less clear energy in the brain, usually suffering migraines, fatigue and pain, but also very good hearted (that is why always involved in others' business). Like a tree, having lots of new shoots in the Spring, Spring is the wood energy time, so without trimming the unwanted branches, the main stem will become weak and less focused, in order to have more new shoots, old and deadly branches have to be removed as well to save the energy for the roots. Wood energy also connects with liver, which helps regulating change of the weather, change of the temperature and changing of the environment, like frequent flyers around the world. Liver also regulates our bio-rhymic activity like hormone activity, women's cycle, sleeping patterns and bowel movement. So wood type people will have trouble or imbalance of the above mentioned. Solutions? Easy! I just came back from Austin, TX to renewal my love of persuing new knowledge. In one morning QiKung seminar, Master li Jun Feng demonstrated us a technique called "blooming flowers in the mountain", when twisting both hands in a DNA circular way in front of the chest, it helps opening our heart chakra, the 4th and middle chakra in the 7 chakra system. Focusing the breathing in and out and twist our body and hands to feel the attraction between hands and heart, it really feels great, open and relaxed. When people from different culture meet for the very first time, they shake hands. Since Chinese meridian system has the heart meridians running on the surface of the body on the little finger, not as the lung meridian running through big thumb for its robust energy, the little finger, however, carries the most gentle and delicate energy for the heart. That is why we call vulnerable heart. By shaking hands, it conveyed the loving energy from heart to heart, and the message of love can be transfered without saying a work, that is why love is a universal language. We are blessed to be born with love, because of love, our parents give birth to us, because of love, babies can grow in a nurturing environment and when babies grow up into adults and find their love for life, the cycle of love will keep on going. Story For A Couple Receiving Acupuncture

Once upon a time, there was a couple who came to me for acupuncture treatments. one suffered with pain and fatigue, the other suffered with irritability and hormone issues. One with confidence and faith, the other was suspicious. Treatments were similar for each of them, results were quite different. The positive thinking one responded greatly with less pain, good sleep and refreshed bursting energy; The suspicious one didn't feel much difference although the improvement already happened. Many things in this world we can't explain why it worked and why it didn't work with our limited wisdom, but one thing is important: to believe wholeheartedly, and things will flow naturally and smoothly; if sort of believe but not believe 100%, for whatever the percentage of your belief and confidence, the result will reflect that percentage as well. It works just like to replace new furniture in your house, if you still in love with the old furniture and only want to replace half of them, then you got 50% new replacement in your house, if you refuse to replace any, then nothing happens, if you agree to replace all of the old ones, although it will take time and can be painful to see some familiar stuff disappearing, but once you made the decision and walked through the healing process, your body is going to be like your house having 100% new replacement and they can function better. Einstein said one time, every minute the atom of your body was changing. If you don't view your body in a dynamic way, it will change anyway no matter what you thinks. Oxidation and Deoxidation

My daughter Christie just turned to 6 years old, I go to the piano class and table tennis class with her every week. One thing impressed me the most is that both the piano teacher and the table tennis coach ask her to slow down to make the finger movement or posture more perfect. At first when I help her to practice at night after work, in order to quickly finish the task the teachers ask her to practice and have more time for bedtime story telling, we did everything quick and sort of in a rush. Although the work has been done, it is not the way it should be. When the teachers remind her to slow down, it is kind of a gentle voice to remind me as parents to slow down. Now when I remind my daughter to do the work slow and try to be more councious with what she does, she got more praise for what she does quality wise. Yesterday for the 6 years I practice in Buckhead, it was the very first time I walked to the library on Buckhead avenue and walked to the Wells Fargo, it took me an hour and half to go back to the office in the rain, but I felt so good, even my face looked a little slimmer. I remembered in our junior high school, during the chemistry class, we would perform two experiments: Oxidation Reaction Test and Deoxidation Test. The first one was to combine a piece of metal usually an Iron or Copper with burning flame or heated up for a while, then quickly the metal changed its color to brownish or darkish, which means it was oxidized and lost its natural quality. The second Deoxidation Test usually added some strong acid like HCl or H2SO4, then the Oxidized metal can be set for free. This is the picture of our life: we work everyday in a faster and faster pace without enough rest, so it is like the oxidation process, so when we grow up, we lost our most naive quality like the childhood, and started our aging process quicker and quicker. Only the harsh experience or hardship just like the strong acid can help us go back to what we really are. Just like any healing process, it may not be as pleasant as you want, but it is truly working the best for you in deed.

Snow, Ice and Others.....

For the first time I lived in Atlanta for 10 years I sa the big snow and ice, which reminds me the city I came from in China----Harbin. It is the city famous for the ice and snow sculpture, and in Winter, some senior citizens jump into the icy SongHua river to swim, so called the polar bear club. People are so proud of the snow and ice from the universe and many kids will eat icecream and a candy fried hawnthorn berry outside. And people who live in the cold weather somehow developed a determined and endurable personality, who take setbacks well. In Atlanta, when the white snow covered the land, for the first time, I want to go outside to breathe the most fresh air ever and steped on the snow and icy road, hearing the crunchy sound from the bottom of the feet and start to celebrate the unworking days, just like Alice in Wonderland when the rabbit lead Alice to a land to celebrate unbirthdays, when the clock and time had made no sense at all. I felt so refreshed and slept so well, and in a moment I felt so relaxed and purified, no need to worry about time since you couldn't drive anyway. When the sunshine comes all snow will melt and the quiet water current just reminds me the most pure water stream from the mountains in the Spring, and the farmers have the saying that the heavy snow will predict a great leaping year to the crops.

Acupuncture for Atlanta--------Birthday, Holiday and Others

My daughter's birthday is on December the 23rd right before Christmas, and on the day of her birth, so many women rushed to the Northside hospital to do the c-section just to avoid the holiday. My son was born on the 24th, and one thing I found out interesting is whenever close to their birth date, they got sick or uneasiness. One typical story about my daughter was one year she was about 1 year old, one night close to 11p.m. on the 22nd of the month, she had loud crying and very hard to soothe her.( I even turned on the vacuum because one book mentioned the vacum's sound similar to the sound in a womb and could have soothing effect on baby's crying, the truth is, after trying this method, my daughter cried even harder).We thought she may had some serious digestion problems and in the midnight, we rushed to the Children's hospital emergency room, strangely enough, my daughter stopped crying in the car and fell asleep. By the time we went to the emergency room, she was totally ok. And she sit in a chair eating an apple and looked around very curiously. So instead of waiting another hour to be seen, we drove her back home and she fell asleep deeply right after, the time was already 1a.m., I had a sleepless night. When I talked to the other parents about this, many of them had very similar experience about their kids being sick near their birthdays. Why? One reason I can think of is because when the day the baby was born, there is the biggest transition of the place they live, from warm uterus to relatively cold environment even in summer, my guess is that summer babies may cope better than winter babies since the temperature difference is less, still this need to be confirmed with more study, and the sound in the uterus and in the real environment is different. One example was that the baby so got used to the environment during the pregnancy, one joke mentioned that one actress had one baby and during her pregnancy she played lots of Ma Jiang, a popular asia games with the TV on, so the room always very noisy, after the baby was born, she decided to keep her room quiet, but the baby couldn't fall asleep, so she turned the TV on and played Ma Jiang with her friends and the baby strated to sleep so well. In a way the baby will have memory about the feeling of the mother and the places and the sound (that is why classical music especially Mozart's is recommended to boost a happy memory), and the biggest change about the birth date will create a shock to the baby so that whenever in the birthday will trigger this unhappy memory, that is why we celebrated birthdays to distract from this feeling. Holidays, on the other hand can create some sad feeling as well especially spending with sb not happy with, and we celebrate the Christmas in the winter by decorating with lights, listening to happy songs and gift giving and receiving, which all lifted our spirits so we don't think too much about ourselves being longly. The most important that the Christmas reminds us the born of Jesus who brings us joy and thankfulness.

One day I got a call from my fertility client, she was going to have her second baby, and it was 9 lbs before due date so her doctor may induce the labor which she didn't like. She came to me at the time that her cervix could open 1.5 cm and 25% phased, after I did some acupuncture for inducing labor, the second day she came from her doctor and told me that the cervix seemed to mature more with 75% phased, last time whenever it was 50% phased, the fouth day she delivered her first baby. So in order to give her more results, I did some new points, stronger than the first day and ask her to come back another time. After the third treatment in a row, the second day she delivered the second baby, exactly one day before the due date. I have treated quite a few women with acupuncture to induce labor, it all worked pretty well, the younger and the stronger the client, the quicker the result. Here is a story about skin problem helped with acupuncture. One male client came one day with very stressful looking. He showed me his hands full of cracks and knots and he complained the bad itchiness. The color was between red and white, and the doctor diagnosed his condition eczema. I looked at it and felt it looked very similar to ectopic dermatitis, especially the red knotty feeling of the skin and the big cracks. I did a special bleeding procedure and acupuncture, 2 days later on his second visit, all the cracks healed nicely with one hand hardly seen any problems before. I remembered I have treated one tough case of the ectopic dermatitis, that client had the skin problem with dry, cracky, even albeit white color changes in the skin who suffered unbearable itchniness for 30 years more. It took me a year to finally made his skin looked normally smooth and itchniess went away most times, it got worse with stress, poor sleeping and food allergies. Here is the story for how acupuncture can promote hair growth in the head, not in other unwanted places. One of my client referred by one of my hairdresser client who has the baldness in the front middle part of the head came to me to help his shoulder,lower back pain and stress. After a couple of sessions of acupuncture, his shoulder tension and lower back pain improved a lot, and he said his hair dresser mentioned to him that his hair grew much thicker now. It is trick or treat time. I still remembered how the first time I know the trick or treat 14 years ago, when I first started my life in America, in Madison, WI, a small apartment, one day heavy knocks on my door, I peeked through the "cat eye" and saw 4 or 5 kids with containers waited outside anxiously. I had no idea what this was for, with my English not fluent that time, I opened the door then I closed the door. Then the knocks continued, I tried to understand what those kids talked about, then I closed the door since I didn't understand. Those poor kids could have no idea why they didn't get a treat, luckily I didn't have any tricks either. Another Holloween, I was so lazy to get out to distribute the candies, then I heard one girl cry loudly outside my house: "I saw you! If you didn't open the door, I'm gonna give you a trick!" Poor me and my husband turned off the TV and turned off the light and held our breath to wait for the tricks. There was 3 big knocks on my brick wall outside and then the kid left. In some magazine or promotion emails, nowadays we got too much, it said "only treats, no tricks", really? I never believe there is free lunch in the world, if you look at things both ways, you can see through them, both tricks and treats exist at the same time, but we can't see it, that is all. Talk about health, health related research and health related products, we may consciously or unconsicously take the information that we think right or we like, but for those part we don't understand or not favor, we may neglect some very important detail. For example, vitamins, we think our body need them but we don't know if our body can process the lab produced vitamins or not, vitamins are beneficial only in their wholistic and natural form, say, vegetables and grains, which are the form we can digest easily. But if they are produced in the lab, no matter how balanced they are, they can still be regarded by our body sth unnatural and subject to rejection from absorbing properly. There is a joke, in a fish bait store, one customer asked the owner if the fish really liked those colorful fake baits, the owner said, it doesn't matter to the fish like it or not, it matters to the fisher who like them. Many times in reality, we depend on too much on the doctors, on the research and what other people say, not thinking through by ourselves. Acupuncture for Atlanta----My Second Labor Experience

After my first labor experience with my daughter Christie, almost 6 years had passed. My son Richard G. was born on 09-24-2010, and this second labor experience is quite different than the first one. My first pregnancy is smooth, natural and no epidural.I even boasted to my clients that by massaging the acupuncture points totally took the edge of labor pain. Every pregnancy test is normal then except the blood sugar a little high due to eating too much mooncakes for the moon festival, after doing the detox from a natural path, blood sugar is normal. My second pregnancy, however, lots of tests showing sth abnormal, first, coagulating factor is way too high,maybe genetic, so I have to take baby aspirin till 36 weeks' pregnancy; second, UTI (strep bacteria infection) detected so I have to take antibiotic for a week and IV injection of penicillian during the labor; third, ultrasound showed the baby's head a little large concerning down's syndrome so more procedure required to rule it out. With no appetite at all through the pregnancy, I lost 10 LBs instead of gaining it,all I want to eat is green peas, cucumbers and tomatoes, the good thing is that I had trouble losing weight and conceiving the second baby since the first child born for 6 years (a little improvement of my fertility since the first child took me 8 years to conceive), so this pregnancy seems to be a win win situation (get pregnant and lose weight all together). In my last regular visit to the OB/GYN, I mentioned the baby movement not as active as yesterday, she did an ultrasound and found out that the amnio fluid was so low that I had to go to the Northside hospital immediately. I didn't have time to call my clients to cancel the appointment, the whole afternoon I was hooked up with wires to monitor the baby's heartbeat and the uterus contraction. Several rounds of IV for proper fluid and started cividel, a cervix maturing and relaxing drug, which helps open the cervix and prepares protoxin for the labor induction (that time my cervix is barely open for 1cm). I slept well that night and next morning the protoxin was given to me through IV, that time I refused the epidural and thought I could be as lucky as my first labor although the nurse told me that by using protoxin the pain could made me feel like hell. I tried to massage all the acupuncture points I know to kill pain including the labor inducing points, which helped the cervix to open to 3-4cm nicely and quickly, then the blood showed without waterbroke, my OB doctor had to break the water manually to quicken the labor process(not much pain surpringly, then some nasty lower back pain and menstrual cramps kicked in badly, to a point I can't breathe and can't think, and feel like there was no end of it, thinking about not sure how long the severe pain could last ( I suffered 4-5 hours' severe pain already and cervix opened to 7-8cm), I finally gave up to epidural in the last 30-40 minutes. Immediately there was no pain, my feeling was from hell to heaven. My legs are totally numb, although I thought I could use half dose since I never took pain killer before. Then my son was born right after the cervix opened to 10cm. The pushing part took longer time due to losing sensation from the epidural. I fainted in the restroom exactly like my first labor due to no food in my stomach. Next day the side effect of epidural---lower back pain and terrible itchiness in the legs happened. There is no free meal, till today I can still feel the spine with epidural injection sensitive. But I surely learned sth from this labor experience.

Although being an acupuncturist most time I feel pain free and happy, I have some stress as well, of course if I didn't tell nobody would ever know. One morning as I started to see my first client at 9 a.m., one female client screamed during her session, then I started to take a look to see what happened,her hands and legs were shaking a little bit and she said she had an anxiety attack. The chest was tight and couldn't breathe well. I asked her if she slept well last night and she said no; I asked her if she ate her breakfast and she said no. Then I thought she must have low blood sugar and dehydration, and the numbness she felt in the arm scared her. I quickly gave her a healthy chocolate with prebiotics and a cup of water, let her sit for a couple of minutes and massaged her neck and shoulder, she then felt much better. I touched her neck and shoulder, it was super tight with big knotty feeling, she was experiencing some emotional stress at that moment, the tightness in the neck and shoulder prevented the blood flow to her brain that is why the brain released the signal of anxiety attack due to lack of oxygen; after massaging, she finally calmed down and felt better. Another day I treated a new client with old shoulder pain, and both shoulder painful with one shoulder had scar tissue after the surgery. After I massage and put one needle in her leg, she can lift the shoulder right away and the pain was much less. I gave her some supplements to help heal the foundational cause and change the body PH from acid to alkaline. She then called me that she felt very uncomfortable to take those supplements and the soreness from the treatment she felt hard to tolerate. I told her that this was a detox effect and after soaking the body in epsom salt bath, all soreness will go away. Many times, for people to receive acupuncture for the first time, especially for chronic pain condition, the body may not necessarily respond happily immediately after the treatment, but it will adjust automatically to a new balance with time, usually with 3-6 days, but some people with pain had a misunderstanding that after acupuncture treatment, the only result should be pain free, that is not true. Everybody has a unique body constitution, plus for people who took prescribed drugs, the response could be totally different than people without taking it. I know God taught me that everybody has a unique lesson to learn and no matter what happened, I should put trust in him, and wait for the right time for the right thing to happen. I truly believe that although being an acupuncturist can have so much misunderstandings and disbelief for what I have done, being an acupuncturist also gave me the opportunity to develope more patience, true wisdom and courage to face all kinds of challenges. The road to the truth is not a smooth path, but eventually I believe more people will be with me, and through the path, we will gain more strength and support and confidence in our selves and others. There is no way to go back, as long as it is the right way to lead to the truth, I'll keep going......, it is my destiny to show my clients that the path of healing may not always be easy, but that is the right and best path.

Finally September is coming! This year we got soooo hot and sooooo long summer, that is why people who suffered more allergies, headache and diarrhea than ever! Because of the humidity in the air, it is also slows down the metabolism, which is hard to lose weight. In combination with a stressful and fast paced working environment, nobody is a winner nowadays, people who have a job has to work double hours to cover the less work force due to the company not hiring, and people who don't have a job more anxious to find one. The air smells tense. In my past experience the most stressful job could be doctors, teachers and lawyers, who seem to carry more responsibilities than other professionals, maybe nowadays the investors can be added to this group as well. One day 3 doctors came in a row to treat some health issues. First one is a surgeon, who had lots of stress and lower back pain, plus depression and poor sleep. After I put some needles on his head, his back pain went away, he looked at me like I am an alien, but he was quite happy. After second acupuncture session, he can bend his back even more without pain, then I showed him one point to massage hard, then he can almost touch his toes, I called it "My Yoga cheating point". Second patient is a physician who has no luck to conceive,especially after she went to another acupuncturist and didn't feel good afterwards. I started working with her for a couple of sessions, she felt very relaxed mentally and energetic physically and she did succeed this time. Third one was a physician in CDC, and he suffered sinusitis, allergies and pain in the arm. The area looked very swollen and inflammed. After i put a couple of needles in his legs, the swolleness went away immediately, then I gave him some supplements to take at home. He felt very surprised how acupuncture worked so efficiently. Just like the doctor patient mentioned, he was not sure how acupuncture worked from a western doctor's view, I kept explained to him that western medicine and eastern medicine worked in a way that we refer to the same problem with different languages, and I worked like a translater to explain between western and eastern medical terminology, the body still the same with different expression, for example anemia, western terminology can refer to low hemoglobin and low iron, and eastern terminology will say low blood or low Yin, but they both refer to the anemia situation and the symptoms like fatigue, hard to talk and walk, etc. In a way there is no mystery about our body, just keep your mind open and try something different if needed to, this way you have more choices to live healthier.

Imagine how many clients you see today have fibroids? And imagine again how many women had hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) due to fibroid heavy bleeding? One of my friend who had internship in a Maryland hospital, OB/GYN clinic, called me one day 6 years ago: " Guess what?" She said, "From morning 5:30a.m. to 8:30p.m., I spent the time in the surgery, and all the surgeries are about hysterectomy!" While, the culture may educate the women that if their uterus not functional, then it is better to remove it. What a silly idea! Once the uterus gone, it is gone, you can't grow a new one on your body. So what is the use of the uterus anyway especially the fibroids grows like crazy and puts the pressure on the colon and bladder to cause the constipation and frequent urination, plus the heavy cycle causes the anemia and low iron? Think again before you take this invasive procedure. Just imagine we suppose the woman who has fibroids and the messed symptoms and don't want to have a baby later in her life, if she is pretty sure about it, remember no decision back, can't cry over split milk, and think about the balance effect: all the empaty organs in our body (like stomach, gallbladder, uterus, bladder, colon, etc., unfortunately they are the most being cut ), they serve like a bubble foam during the mailing, which help absorb and protect the tension from external world to our solid organs, more like heart, liver, spleen, etc. So the empty organs can protect the solid organs from being hurt due to injuries and accidents. With the humidity and lots of changes in August, people may feel lost and not focused. From end of July to end of August each year, I find out that the clients' may deal with some "old" issues every year. This is also called the month of the ghost in Chinese culture, which means many changes and weird stuff may happen and confused our determination and clear judgement. In the lunar calender, it is called "Chu Shu", meaning in the environment of strong heat; Recently what happened in the world may prove how hot it can be, in Russia, due to the combination of the uncontrollable forest fire and high summer heat, around 700 people died every day; and the same thing happened in India or other countries. This big consistant heat wave really burned out our immune system and circulation system, people who suffered respiratory or heart issues before may find it very hard to tolerate. This is also the big earth time based on Chinese five element theory, so many people died this time, they returned to the earth. From a positive view, some old energy disappeared, some new energy will be created, for example, many new pregnancies and new babies will come to the world as a new balance resets in the universe. Lately the famous financial investor Stanley who used to be George Soros's big helper decided to retire at age 58. In one talks he said in the past 30 years he gained as much as 30% each year for the hedge fund and this year for the first time he lost 5%, he couldn't tolerate that he didn't reach the goal he set and one day, his friend invited him to go to a golf tournament in Scottland, he refused immediately, he felt he needed to be responsible for his investors; then his friend told him:" Are you crazy, you have done the same thing for 30 years, and you are a billionaire, but you can't take a couple of days off for playing" This made him to think what his life purpose is really about. Do we have an alternative if we can lower the expectation a little bit? I am really jealous of the Amish people, their ancestors are from Switzerland and they are very family oriented, the whole tribe works and lives close to nature, they plant their own food and process the food naturally, plus they have religion and live a very simple, happy life. Like the family of 5 who sold their house and cars to travel the world in a boat, the dad gave a conclusion after 7 years of adventure, he said that the more poor the people they see, the more happy they are. That is why Bill gates and Warren Buffet tried hard to persuade the billionairs to donate their money to the society for goodness. It is a new era if we can all think from a different angle, by the time we can let go something we used to think valuable, we can truly achieved the freedom of life, and happiness. I believe after the month of August, our country will become new only after our people start to think and act totally different, under the law of universal merciness.

Don't always think that only the overweight people are the group who want to lose weight, I always have clients who come to me to lose weight in which condition I didn't think they are overweighted, however they are pretty slim. So where am I going to start first? It looks like these people have nothing to lose. To my surprise, after working with the cravings, most clients stop cravings within a week, more accurately speaking, within 3 days. Then I will work on the cellulite and strengthen the muscle in the belly, there are 3 clients who are very thin already later on told me that they lost 20 LBs in a month or two. This totally changed my view of working on the weight loss, the saying that you can never be too rich or too thin seems true. Alright then, one time I worked with an old gentleman who complained of lower back pain, after I fixed his back, he lost 20 lbs. One thing I have to mention during the past 11 years of experience working with clients who suffer with back pain, migraine, TMJ, acid reflux, anxiety, stress, menopause syndrome and some other weird unexplained health issues: Coffee could be one of the most possible clue I found that may trigger or worsen the above issues. Lady A is a very elegant TV host who suffering bad TMJ(Temporal-Mandibular-Joint) syndrome, she had trouble to open her mouth or may clench teeth at night (psychologically we see the clenching teeth is one sign of digesting the stress in the day),and the first time I met with her, her pain level is 8 (from 0 to 10), then I asked her to quit coffee, and reassured her that if she had a withdrawal headache, I can fix the headache immediately. She did and told me on her next visit that her TMJ syndrome felt much better and the pain level had dropped to 2 immediately. Lady B suffers migraine headache and menopause syndrome like hot flashes, night sweats and acid reflux. She also had burning pain shooting down to the legs. When I looked at her health history, I found she drank coffee everyday at least 2-3 cups. Although she was suspicious that caffeine could contribute to her health issues, she stopped since I urged her to do it. Another client I saw who suffered severe rib cage pain after a car accident and insomnia for a long time, whose husband and two daughters are famous doctors, they had done all possible tests on her to figure out what was wrong with her. one day when I worked with her and mentioned she needed to stop coffeee immediately because I found out that her female hormone was very empty by touching a point which showed that her kidney energy was very low. This Summer in Atlanta is kind of way too hot, and humid. This really reflects its global trend, no matter in China the East or U.S.A. the West, it is hottttt......, there is a news in China in one province, the high temperature breaks history record and it melted the road and the truck and an emergency car were stuck to the road; In BeiJing, the temperature is as high as 40 degrees and one person put a raw egg on top of a metal cover on the road, about 3 minutes the egg is ready to serve. This reminds me a story in Iceland, when the volcano erupted, it produced high temperature lava, and some famous cooks brought their kitchen gadgets and seafood for a natural volcano gourmet, one dish created by the cook was called "Lava Lobster", it maybe is a good idea to cook food by nature and save some energy bills. We will experience high energy cost by using more air conditioner, washing machine and fans. What if in the future there is an invention that we can switch our house to absord solar energy in the day and at night release it and if it is too hot, the house can switch to different colors like red, which absorbs the ultra sunlight the most and at night the color will change to blue, which calms us the most. Just like the flying car invented now, everything is possible. So what happened to our health in reaction to the hot weather? As a natural way, in order to keep up with the hot weather, our body will become hot as well. This will prevent the body from absorbing too much heat, just like the fever, it is protective. Unfortunately we have the indoor temperature too low and by using the fan blowing cold air, our immune system is kind of vulnerable to resist the coldness, that is why we have a lot of cold and flu like symptom in Summer. Based on each client's birth date, there are 8 types of body constitution we can help to define, so that the best food is uniquely fit to each client. Remember one person's favorite is another person's toxins, it is so true. When you drink lots of water in the hot summer, don't forget to add a little of seasalt in it, which help the mineral looss through the sweating, if you just drink water only, your body will become even more mineral deficinet because the pure water dilutes it.

The practice of Medicine is not practice of Science

When I visited Northside Hospital the other day, before the register to see a specialist, I was asked to sign an agreement form, here it reads like: "The practice of medicine is not the practice of science, so the procedures are not guaranteed......". It is so true that our body is one of the most complicated scientific object but the way you understand it not just merely by the scientific instrument, we have to combine the arts and hearts. In ancient China, there is a very famous Chinese doctor called Bian Que, who is the doctor inventing Ma Fei san, an herbal formula used to numb people during the surgery, just like Novacaine or Lidocaine we use today for anesiology purpose. Since he was a great surgeon and especially in bone surgeries, the emperor called him to the palace and asked him, " I heard you have 2 other brothers who are also doctors, among 3 of you, who is the best? " Bian Que answered: " My oldest brother is the best doctor. He always treated and cured people before the patients realized they have an health issue. But people won't appreciate him, they don't think he did something important to correct their health.My second brother are better boctor, he treated and cured the patients when they have minor complaints like fever, coughing or diarrhea. But again people think he did a little bit for treating the minor symptoms." " But for me, whenever I treat the patients, they already developed serious condition so I have to cut the area or even I tried my best their condition can be relieved but not totally recovered. From this story, we can see that there is no big difference between the past and today. People still overlook the health in a daily life and only pay attention if it goes pretty bad or intolerable. Just like the Northside Hospital said, the practic eof medicine is not the practice of science, you can't expect the same results from the same procedure done by the same doctor or different doctor, and the same medicine or drugs can't expect the same results from different patients, so that in a way, don't be serious about getting a bad result on one test, many false results there, and results may change if taking proper treatments. For infertility clients, just one time result didn't mean anything, it may change as your body change, and being a doctor, all test results can be used as reference but can't be used as the only determination, because our system is much more complicated and dynamic, it is changing all the time, even under different weather our body performance could be different. So the only thing we can count for is not feeling it or not, we need to pay attention to our feeling all the time so you can define the early stage of the disease in case it happened.

Being a woman, I just simply love the flowers. As I mentioned in an article before, women are like flowers who need to be praised, pampered and cared gently and men are like bushes who need the minimum care, just trimming regularly like cutting hair regularly is good enough. I adore all flowers no matter they are big or small. Every flower has a unique quality to show to the world just like us, every personality is different and you can't judge them by your likes and dislikes, they are simply different and unique. In modern society, stress is a close friend. When I talked to a client the other day, I said that due to a different culture, the same health issues can happen with different signs. For example, menopause, in North America and Europe the signs of menopause like hot flased, reduced sexual drive and skin dryness as well as moodiness (in extreme case, menopause can cause the thoughts of suicide)are much more magnified, while in Asia women usually has less symptoms due to regular consumption of soy. Here I want to address that many women in America have the wrong impression that soy products can cause breast cancer or cysts due to the estrogen in them. Wrong! The estrogen we fear of like in the HRT (hormone replacement therapy) are synthesized estrogen, just like vitamins, if they are lab produced, they won't be recognized by our body as natural ingredients, however they may be treated as toxins. While soy are not genetically modified and the plant estrogen comes from a wholistic source which can be absorbed naturally and easily and will be assimilated into our system without problem, unless you have allergies to soy. While in Maya culture, women don't have menopause symptom at all! They eat local unmodified foods and people are less ambitious and less stressful. So in terms of your own health, it is hard for a doctor nowadays to find out which food doesn't go well with you and may cause serious heath issues like asthma, allergies and some colon and liver issues. In the ancient time, people live in a local community and eat local food in a predictable weather, so the disease pattern is easy to define. Now we travel all over the world and we eat non seasonal food from all over the places under diversity of the weather. So it is more complicated to define the disease pattern. The best advice is eat simple, local fresh food and be your own doctor. Pay more attention to your daily life for your thoughts, your eating, your habits, the more councious your are, the more preventative that big health issues can be avoided. Acupuncture for Atlanta------Seizure Week

Last week I got 2 calls asking help for seizure. One came from a 10 year old child's father, the other from one of my current client, an old lady who had stroke before. Why seizure suddenly happened last week? Seizure is a condition that certain area of the brain, usually the area controls the mobility and sensibility has irregular, over exciting movement which has caused the malfunction of the mobility like shaking, convulsion or sudden falling or losing counciousness; or losing the ability of normal sense. It has repetitive nature, meaning it may reoccur. If we look at the weather here in Atlanta last week, it was very hot and humid. In this weather condition, the children and elderly people may have trouble to breathe, so that not enough blood circulation which delivers oxygen will go to the brain, especially before seizure happenens, if the person has a very stiff neck and shoulder or has a ciculation issues already (like stroke, high or low blood pressure)may prone to the seizure occurence. Acupuncture, especially scalp acupuncture is a great, effective way to treat seizure, usually within 1 to 10 sessions the seizure symptoms can be controled and also can be treated preventatively for the future. Concerning the diet, the patient must stay away from oxygen consuming food like coffe, coke or soda, refined sugar or sweets, cookies and refined white flour, etc. Eat more fresh vegetables and greens, which usually deliver more oxygen compared to other colored food, drink spring water everyday to help cleanse, and stay away from dairy products and seafood, which may cause too much mucous and stay away from spicy food, which may inhibit the lung and liver function so that breathing can be effectively. For women, don't wear a tight bra, which may cause tight chest pressure, breathing difficulty and panic feeling.

Atlanta Acupuncture Clinic------Moth Fighting Story

I have to admit that I have a both challenging and fun job as well as the working environment. In my office, I have some herb jars on the bookshelf, and somehow they attract some moth flying by sometimes. I used to have no trouble at all, I got the glues and tapes, as well as a catcher given by my former foot reflexologist. But things started to change a little bit recently, why? I am still as swift as before, and very quick in my mind and my action if I set up my heart to get rid of them. Plus after 11 years of acupuncture practice, I see myself becoming a good shooter: anywhere 3-7 meters from the garbage can I hardly miss shooting the bedpaper
ball into it. I remembered that in my high school we have gun shooting practice in an army foundation, without wearing glasses, I hit the 47 (full score is 50). Maybe I just play by luck. The moth must eat the miraculous Reishi and gained tremendous strength so that they fly higher and longer and more smart. Since Reishi is an herb treated by Asian people as the longevity herb, so that my moth fighting is geeting harder. Acupuncture for Atlanta---Vitamin D Deficiency

Recently I had my blood test and surprisingly found out that my Vitamin D was very deficient. When I talked to a chiropractor in my office, she forwarded me some information from an OB/GYN, and I know that I am not alone. Dr. Pick, who found that in the past 3 or 4 months, an astounding number of people he knew personally had showed a marked deficiency of Vitamin D after having a routine blood panel test. Several people were so deficient that they were given 50,000 IU's once a month until their Vitamin D levels reaching a normal range. Then I asked around my clients and one of them is a physician who also said the the same thing, himself plus his clients had Vitamin D deficiency as well. When Dr. Pick tested his clients, more than 85% had Vitamin D deficiency. My first question is why so many people had this and why in the last 3 or 4 months it became so evident?
My analysis of Vitamin D deficiency could come from several reasons:
1. Not enough sun exposure. Your body can't create Vitamin D on its own, it is designed to create it through sun exposure. In the past 3 or 4 months, most people stay indoors to work hard, at least in my impression that with the economy slowly picked up in the U.S.A., more people work extented hours, traveling more by car or airplane, spending more indoor hours with computer, meetings or phones, a lot of people may skip their meals to catch up with the busy schedule, so the outdoor sun exposing hours could be reduced. Unfortunately, the moon light won't help create Vitamin D.
2. Consumption of Vitamin D increased with more bone usage. Vitamin D is a precursor hormone, the building block of a powerful steroid hormone in our body called calcitriol. Since Vitamin D is crucial to the health of our bones and teeth, so the overuse of the bone (standing or sitting)can cause the lower Vitamin D as well especially due to a poor diet and a bad lifestyle.
Why Vitamin D is so important for our health? The recent study showed a link between Vitamin D deficiency and obesity, insulin resistance, heart disease, certain cancers and depression. Those are the most popular disease in Atlanta believe or not, that is why I want to address this issue here. Maybe the unstable earth change and strong and irregular magnetic wave really changed our immune sysytem. Plus the lifestyle is not getting better but getting worse. On the date of 03-08-2010, in the evening around 6p.m., one lady called me in urgent that she needed to come immediately to help inducing labor with acupuncture. I said ok. Then she arrived soon after the call. She was in her 30s, white female with a rush and liked to talk. I have to say that she looked pretty friendly and well behaved. After the acupuncture session, she requested me to give her one to two months supply of diet pills, which she told me that her due date had passed for 5 days and she lived in Portland, OR. She had been refused to take the airplane, her husband would fly here soon, now she stayed in her friend's home, and her friend wanted to lose weight, that is why she would buy some diet pills to treat her friend. Everything sounded logical and reasonable. By the check out time, her credit card couldn't go through, then she said maybe she spent the whole day shopping for baby stuff and she had to call her credit card company before me. Finally her credit card company authorized me to run an offline transaction. She left and supposed to show up 2 days later for her 2nd appointment and she didn't. I tried the telephone number in her file but got an answer machine. I left her a message. On the date of 03-27-2010, I got a chargeback from my credit card processing company, then I thought maybe she was in labor and couldn't remember who I was, so I sent my processing company the sales receipt and her signature. Two weeks passed, I also tried to contact her by phone and even in facebook, I found sb looks similar with her with the same name: Jane Doe (the real name hidden). That Jane Doe soon replied my email and told me she never had a baby and never been to Atlanta for an acupuncture service. Then I tried the address in file and although st. was spelled ct. and one digit of zip code didn't match, finally found the most close address and telephone number in Portland, OR. The file phone number is 510, which is in California and has been used by a person for a long time. I called the 503 number, it is a Barber shop. That lady told me that sb had stolen her address, she closed the shop every Tuesday and Thursday, and sb tried to deliver Fedex or mails on those 2 days using her address. She also gave me a clue that Mike, from Atlanta car rental company called her to tell her that, the lady "Jane Doe" (don't know the real name) had a false ID and use Jane Doe's credit card to rent a car and never returned. When I called Mike this morning, he told me that including this lady "Jane Doe" there are total 3 people who stole the car has been arrested by Atlanta police office. I never thought even a thief could use stolen credit card to have acupuncture service. You would imagine that she will use the stolen money to buy her valuable gifts or luxuries. But she values acupuncture as necessity at the risk of being arrested. The lady in the Barber shop told me that behind her shop there is an acupuncture clinic, that is why this fake "Jane Doe" has a familarity to acupuncture. I am joking to my self" I treat people from all walks of life including thieves."

Recently acupuncture got more and more popular. Besides the formal interview for CNN, CBS and Oprah Winfrey show, acupuncture can be seen a lot in some popular TV series. Usually I don't watch TV at all, but the only couple of glimpse I watched, I saw that acupuncture was more or less used to tell the story. In the cartoon <>, little barlet went to an acupuncture clinic, the doctor kept asking him emotionalessly, "Did you feel it? Did you feel it" , he kept saying "No", by the time he left the acupuncture clinic, he was stuck with needles all over his body. This is just be used to create hilarious effect. In << The Sex and The City>>, the perfectionist Sharlett went to a New York acupuncture clinic to treat infertility, the acupuncturist kept telling her" Relax, relax", but her mind was obsessed with thousands of stuff, and the car noise from outside the treatment room eventually make her scream" I can't!". Another scene in <>, one housewife kept talking, talking with acupuncture needles on her head, and she complained that she can't stop worrying. In reality, the treatment is serious, not just a cosmic show. In order for the clients to receive the full benefits from acupuncture, it is better for the clients to do some research before the visits. Talking to other people who experienced acupuncture before also very helpful, so that you know the treatment has been existing for 5,000 years and the practice of the acupuncture is more established and safe although it looks scary. Several clients who did the IVF treatments in RBA or ARM brought some comments from the fertility doctors. It is sort of like Dr. Toledo called me "a rock star", Dr. Lisa Hasty said: "I loved Dr. Li Liu", and the nurse kept saying "everybody goes to her". While it may not be true. Being a rock star is a much easier and glamourous. one afternoon one woman called me to see if I do acupuncture to induce labor, I said yes, then she want to come immediately that evening, I said ok. From the past experience, for women who passed their due date from 3 days to 2 weeks, I have helped them to initiate labor right away, the result also depends on the age and strength of the clients, those who are young and had good energy can start the labor within 4-8 hours, for those who are older and had fatigue may need daily acupuncture for up to 3 days to be totally ready. But one thing is for sure: if the cervix is not open yet, after acupuncture it will start to open and mucous clog will drop, the cervix will become soft and relaxed to progress, for those whose cervix already open 1-2 cm, after acupuncture within 24-48 hours it will open 2-4 cm or even more. Plus it will happen within 24-48 hours, I don't need to worry to have an emergency truck on hand. But the quickest time I know to start labor is within an hour if the woman has hard labor and passes the due date. This woman is from another state, passed the due date for about 10 to 12 days, she was refused to go to the airplane and she had to stay with a friend, her husband had to buy an airticket to meet her here. I asked her if she wanted a slow way (24-48 hours) or quick way (1-4 hour), she said maybe a slow way, just to catch her husband. Right now every 6 to 8 hours she had a contraction, so I decided to do a combination of the slow and the quick. I told her if the labor not happening the next day, then come back. The next morning, I haven't seen her, so I assume that the labor had already happened. I wish her and the baby well, and for those who try to avoid the induction, I can tell you that acupuncture definitely help!

On 02-14-2010, in Chinese lunar calendar it officially started the Chinese New Year. The lunar calendar, is based on thousands of years of practice of timing in farming business, it actually tells the real season of the year, for example, in Western calendar, the new year starts from January 1st, the beginning of the year, although in many cities it is still in the Winter. The Lunar calendar always starts the Spring in February or March, which is the real season for the beginning of the year, the real Spring time. There are 24 Jie Qi to describe the real change of the season, and this year, it is Geng Yin, meaning the upper 6 months in lunar calendar will be cold, Geng is a hard, cold white metal, also the metal element is a symbol for discipline and altruism, lots of helping and charity work will happen, like in Haiti for example, the second half of 2010 in lunar calendar will be dominated by strong wood, Yin energy. Since in nature, metal cuts wood, metal is also the west direction, a symbol of the Western world, while wood is the east side and symbol of the Eastern world, so they both are Yang, strong energy, a strong conflict and lots of fighting energy will exist in the world in 2010. Healthwise, people may have trouble between colon/lung and liver/gallbladder, meaning disharmony between lung and liver, colon and gallbladder. I just came back from an exciting seminar this past weekend talking about miracle points for pain. One of my old client called me and asked if I can treat his heel pain immediately. He had right heel pain after his right knee surgery, the knee was better but not the heel, especially when he walked, the pain will become excruciating. I carefully looked the spot in his bottom foot, then I inserted my first needle, then ask him to move and put hard pressure on his right foot. He felt a little better, after I insert the second needle and ask him to put even more hard pressure on his right foot, he said the heel pain is totally gone! I am glad that only two needles took care of him, so I left him relaxed for 30 minutes. My approach is to allow the maximum result to happen as sson as it can. I used to be an 100 yard dashing runner, so the speed and intensity are very important to win, plus in order to win, you have to have a very peaceful mind. We used to combine the running training with lots of Yi Jing and Ba Gua theory, the same as Chinese theory, that is from the observation of the natural energy flowing in the universe plus practice knowledge. If an acupuncturist is good, not only he carries a good knowledge, but also truly an artist. Many disease are not in the textbook, so the intuitivity and creativity plus flexibility are important to bring to a higher level. Many sparkling ideas will become a new approach for solving a hard health issue, for many of us, the solution, the key to our health is there, we just need to translate and listen to our heart, and remain open, you will see an amazing world inside of you. In one word to describe the feeling of being an acupuncturist: I feel so honored and excited to see that the most treasure in our life is our body. It can accomdate and accomplish so many things. We have to say our body created by God is truly a miracle. This winter in Atlanta felt especially cold. Too much rain, the humidity and low air pressure brought lots of sinus congestion, cold, coughing and allergies as well as arthritis pain. Two days ago, one of my old friend who worked in a hospital in DC called me at night, and she said: "Guess what? This is my 3rd day and night here in this hospital, I was trapped by the snow and can't drive back home. Her home is located in a curve of a hill, and all the cars were trapped and couldn't drive." Then I teased her where she slept in the hospital, in a patient's bed? She told me not. She did use some paper gown as pajama though. We both came from China in a cold city, but she never saw this harsh weather before. From the Arctic iceburd melting, the whole globe can feel the coldness. What is the next? The environment we live on depend on the action we took to get protected. Who knows what will happen next, the earthquake, hurricane and snowstorm happened more and more frequently, some countries are sinking downward to the ocean and maybe soon this country will disappear. What caused the disasters, what can we do about it, every earth man and woman are responsible to take action now to protect this living environment, if we don't anything right, we maybe our own terminators, before we find another earth to live.

There is something I found very interesting: when I do the EMI (electro meridian test) on the people from Atlanta, most of the case the liver meridian showed abnormal. And when I work on the people complaining neck and shoulder pain, the same spot on the body hurts the worst. Everybody from Atlanta complaining neck and shoulder pain has the same spot hurting badly. I call it " Atlanta Syndrome". Why? Now let's analyze why only people in Atlanta suffer bad neck and shoulder pain compared to other cities? To my impression, Atlanta is really truly a business like city, everybody has engaged in something to do even in the spare time all the time. So it is not surprising to see even a small lady has a rock hard neck and shoulder, even not from computers but picking up the baby. Last to say, Atlanta is an international and multi-culture city, it is very spiritual too, from everywhere you will see the different churches, even some new created ones. That is one thing I like Atlanta, everybody seems to come from another city or country, not necessarily born here, so if you come from another culture, you will feel like home, plus it is not as complicated as New York or California, where the culture group may be too big to feel just like a country not a city. So that is why people work hard here, enjoy the new found treasure land. I think this city is full of moving energy, full of creativity and full of new energy. And this energy also carries lots of responsibilities as well, "put a lot on the shoulder to carry", no wonder shoulder pain is popular. Good news? For the past 14 years I have practiced acupuncture, and there are some interesting things happened during acupuncture according to feedbacks from my clients. Plus everybody closed his eyes and relaxed. And everybody had acupuncture for 30 minutes.
1. Feeling of water waves and floating sensation, to some degree the body is in the air somehow;
2. Seeing colors like blue, green, orange, purple, red and yellow with eyes closed, according to Indian chakra system, orange and red are symbols for reproductive organs and psychologically meaning survival issues, yellow is for solar plexus the digestion system, green for heart chakra, blue is for throat chakra which helps expressing yourself and purple (sometimes white) is for the top chakra, the highest conscious level. During my meditation one time I saw lots of purple and yellow color with my eyes closed and I know that was the sign that my digestion system was healed. This happens more among the people who are creative, more like artists or people who are very sensitive. This type of person also gets better quicker than the average people, but of course they may get effected by the environment more than the average people. So don't judge it good or bad, this is just a different type of body constitution, that is all.
3. Dreaming or seeing the future image-----I had quite a few clients reported that they have seen a future image in a short dream during acupuncture session, for fertility clients, a lot of times they see a baby image and most times it is a soothing and sweet type of dream. So acupuncture definitely involves REM sleep stage where the dream happens. For other people they know they had a dream but couldn't remember them.
4. Feeling of detachment from reality. This is happened often that clients thought they were in their bedrooms but when I took out the needles, they started to realize that this is in a clinic.
5. Out of body experience. This happened one time with my pregnant client who suffered high blood pressure. During the acupuncture, she felt her body was flying to the ceiling and looked herself in the treatment table. She said she had such experience when she was little. Now with acupuncture it triggered this original ability. That is a proof that acupuncture is an antioxidant type of treatment that can reverse the body to the past even though the age remains the same.
6. Feeling of tingling, cold or warm, heavy or pressure, inducing endorphine release and regulate melatonin and seratonin, those are the normal sensation from acupuncture, I will skip, nothing too fancy about.
7. Disease will disappear like black lines with eyes closed. This was happened to one of my client with ability to see the unseen. I treated her with kidney and urinary stones, when I put the needle in the right place, she can see internally that the stones were disolved and moved down inside her body like a long black line. And surpringly after that treatment, she did pass the stone out and no lower back pain anymore. Now almost 6 years passed and she was totally fine, the kidney stone didn't come back.

A Lifesaving Button

That is a story when I was an intern in a hospital in China 15 years ago, during a night shift in a cardiac ICU, at midnight there is an old gentleman had trouble breathing, her ECG showed cardiac arrest and the line almost got flat straight line and in any minute he will leave the world. We got close to him and got ready to do the rescue procedure, the equipment also got ready to "junk cable" his heart, the attending doctor tried several times but the machine didn't work, he got worried, the gentleman had no response and looked like no electricity, another intern tried to find to see if the equipment was plugged in, and then I suddenly touched a button, then a big electric sound was alive and the attending doctor could worked on the patient, next 5 minutes, the gentleman's ECG showed signs of life again. That is the button I pushed which saved the patient, that button is the switch of the equipment and we all forget about that was the first one we should turned on. This image was in my mind from time to time. I always thought that everybody in this world had a lifesaving button, and most times we had to turn it on by ourselves. It doesn't matter what color or what background you come from, to the level of life, we are all equal. Whenever it comes to life and health, we should value for what we have, and if you look at your life from a different angle, it is a unique beauty, and you changed your destiny by action, not assumption.

A Family of Three Suffered Pain

This lady called me last Monday, she wanted acupuncture immediately due to severe belly pain. That is Matin Luther King JR's Day, I said ok. It took her an hour to drive to my clinic. And when I looked her intake form, oh my! Almost every part of the body got checked for something was wrong. She told me that she was falling apart. The most severe pain was in her left colon and ovary area. Although she had a hysterectomy, the scar tissue pushed her from time to time. The pain level is +10 (from 0 to 10) all the time, she also suffered asthma (a southern popular health problem), a lot of varicose veins in the leg, high stress in the back and diverticulitis, pain shooting down the legs and across the whole sciatica and inguinal area. When I started to put the first couple of needles and asked her to move her back, she felt immediate relief. When I put a couple of needles for her abdominal pain, she was so surprised to see the pain was vanishing, her husband even helped to poke hard on the pain spot and she was all fine. Sperm Count 4 times higher, Talking Ovaries

This is a male who suffered low sperm count, low sperm motility and morphage (shape) issues. He also suffered fatigue, lower back pain and sinus congestion, from a big belly you can also see some digestion problems there too. My Clients Call me "Steel"

This is already the #N times that my clients called me "Steel", don't know if it is a good word or not, but I think that is a good comment on my work as an acupuncturist to show my strength to get rid of problems. Although acupuncture needle can be considered as "Xin" Yin metal, which means it is a metal that is delicate, soft and shining like a gold and silver jewelry, steel, "Geng" metal is a Yang metal that is powerful to chop the big trees. So I guess I am this type of tough people designed by God to handle some tough jobs. But guess what? Steel is for the basis structure for construction, buildings even placed in the body to replace fractures bones. So I am kind of proud for this type of enengy to support my clients who complained "being collapsed". It is very interesting though this type of energy is super to dissolve some type of blockage, both physically and emotionally, and also good to get rid of big lumps. A recent example is that one of my female client had huge fibroids, as big as grapefruit, even bigger than that, this reoccured after a fibroid surgery and she didn't want to do the surgery again. I used acupuncture and some herbs, for about one month or two, now the fibroid is less than a lemon size, moving down to the center and toward lower abdomen, plus it becomes very soft, pretty soon I think it will disappear totally. Another example is one of my client has a huge cyst on the base of her neck, full of infections and pushed her nerves to cause severe pain. I did a bleeding technique, and for couple of sessions, the cyst totally disappeared, which saved her thousands of $ from surgery, plus saved her from total anesiology work, which scared her the most. I remembered when I was 4 years old, I had an accident falling from second floor to a concrete surface. When I was picked up by my grandmother, she was so surprised that I was totally fine, it is so lucky that I fell in the center of a digged cave, in the old time in China, the cave was digged to a certain depth underground to preserve potatoes or other vegetables in the summer, when the refrigerator was not popular. I always asked myself: what is the purpose of my life? What if I didn't come back to life at 4 years old. God must save my life for a better use. My Turkey Patient, Moon and Weight Loss Story 2

Just continue for last story. Lately when I looked at the sky, the moon feels weird shape. It always like a cresent shape from left to right, but lately it looks like this shape from up and down, sth not right. When I search the web, it did mention that from 2009 to 2010, lots of meteo rain will happen and some phenomenon will happen since the moon will get hidden when the earth and moon at the same linear movement. You know moon has the most power to a woman's menstrual cycle, so does the water energy on earth. That is why this winter so much snow and so much rain happened in a way to cause disaster. For several weeks there is no star in the sky so we see a lot of clouds in the day not sunshine. Sometimes you feel like this is the end of the world. When I read <>, the prediction ancient Chinese book mentioned that, after conflicts and wars and diseases (like H1N1 Flu), the whole world should move toward a new era, a more harmony and peaceful one that not any one country is the only dominant leader but each country will be elected in turn as a leader to serve the world. Although it sounds aweful to lose the biggest power as a leader, it maybe a good thing that you don't need to hold all the responsibilities all by yourself. Here is a weight loss story from one of my client, she has lots of cravings and never worry about anything because her husband takes care of all the bills until one day, she showed up looking very anxious, she found out that her husband had an affair (not confirmed) but she checked his recent activities that he bought a ticket to China with another lady without telling her. In the next 30 days, she couldn't sleep and kept thinking if she needed a divorce. Then her husband kept calling her which changed her mind to quit the 10 year marriage, plus they had a son conceived by IVF. After her husband returned from China, she lost 20 pounds in one month! This is unusual, because when she is stressed, she didn't eat much, but for those the opposite, the more stress the more eating, you may gain 20 pounds!

My Turkey patient, moon and weight loss story

This patient is different than others because I gave him a nickname-my Turkey patient. Things happened like this: from him, I see how the economy goes now. He used to work in a farm doing organic farming in washington state, and hunted some turkeys for meal according to what he told me. Then he worked as a technician for BMW. The most interesting thing is he used to see an acupuncturist there who had a BMW, they will trade each other's service for free, he got free acupuncture and he repaired his acupuncturist's BMW for free, sounds like a nice plan. Then he moved to GA. Trouble seemed to start here. He divorced, I even didn't know he got married. And he strated to work for Acura dealershop, it was around early 2008, not much car repair business thanks to the good durability of our cars. Then he was cut off the hours, then he was laid off. For 3-6 months, he lived on the insurance and had to move from a house to an apartment to a basement sharing with other people. The next step he told me that if no job and no income, he would live in his car. Of course I tried my best to help him through this time. Then one day he mentioned if we can trade our services, like he can help fix my car and get free treatment. I want to test him first, so I pointed him one of my chair and told him that it needed to be fixed, maybe some nails falling. Then he got excited to work on my chair, about 10 minutes later, I peek at my chair, it almost broke from parts to parts, then I thought, ok, I was glad it was just a chair, not my car, if the parts of my car got messed, I couldn't fix by myself then more work would be created to bring back to normal, it was sort of like our body, if you aren't sure if sth is good or not to mess your health, then leave it alone. It took more work and money to fix it till it is normal again. So he didn't get the chance to "mess my car". Later he got a chance to volunteer in a place which serves the food to the elderly, so he got lots of free meal, that is why he stopped by from time to time to fix his stomach problem. Then at the end of 2008 near Christmas time, he showed up one day and gave a huge Turkey! It took my family almost a month to finish it, my mom ate it almost every day. Then he got this job and some income, still from time to time he complained of almost bankrupcy, but at least he got a job and eat free. Yesterday Christmas time again in 2009, he knocked my door and gave me a huge cake, a velvet cake. This time I have to bring it to a party because I am not a cake person and my parents in China now, nobody will eat it. Whenever I think about him, I feel funny. Also I hope in his life all will go well.

December----Holiday Spirits, Birthday and others

With Christmas close by, besides the holiday stress, talk about the holiday spirits. Last week on a very gloomy and cold Thursday, when I ate my dinner around 8p.m., my house bell rang. There are more than 16 people (10 Children and 6 adults) stood in front of my home, when I looked at them surprisingly, the Christmas songs started by all the Children, the voice is kind of gentle, sparkling with my lighted reideer (with its neck turn around) on the lawn, after couple of songs, there was a little girl moved forward to my door steps and handed me a gift bag, with a bible, an invitation card and some delicious cookies. When they moved to our neighbour, I looked at the sky, no stars, very cold and foggy, but in my heart it was so warm. Next day, my neighbour Kevin dropped me some cookies he made and now, I checked out 5 recipe books for cookies, bread and muffins. I think the holiday spirit is contagious. Once I received one gift, I had the urge to create one gift for other people. I haven't watched TV news for couple of years now, or listened to advertising radios for a while, by doing so making my heart peaceful and staying away from all the negativity which stuffed my brain like a garbage can. I only need one true spirit-----love, unconditional love. Christmas is not just a symbol for fancy presents, a big tree of decoration or fancy food, it is truly a holiday to deliver our love to each other, no matter you are rich or poor. By giving, we also get rewarded. My daughter Christie is 5 years old today, I asked her what she wants for a gift, she said, a fish, maybe four, the family of gold fish, so that she sees the love of each fish as a family and she can care for them every day. Boy, that is a challenge for me and my husband, because we both had bad luck to keep fish alive in the past. I also planned the little tomb for the fish if this time we failed again. The problem in the past is not because we feed them too little but too much. Everything overdo kills the vitality and balance. I still remember that when I went to a tire store and checked why my car didn't run smoothly, the guy took a look and told me that I gave too much air pressure to my car, I always worried that my car will stop suddenly or got a flat tire so I always put the maximum (not the minimum) air pressure. That is why each time I drove it, I got the bumpy feeling. He helped me to release the air pressure and I now did feel more balanced and not as tough as before. This reminded me that in our lives, if we always put too much pressure to ourselves, we will have tough time, but if we reduce this pressure to ourselves, life will be much easier. So the most stress is created within although we think the "road" should be responsible for it, since we can't change the environment around us, the most easy way is to change our thinking and behavior, then you get your peace of mind.

Besides called "Turkey Day", Thanksgiving is a truly day to express the thanks. It is also an American tradition that reminds us how we establish our lives from nothing to a lot. I had so many thanks in my mind this year, especially the economy crisis and so much transition happened in our lives, I finally went through the worst part and survived. First, I thank for my clients, to put belief and trust in my hands and allow me to carry the hope for their health and future through the treatments; Secondly, thank for the change and divine energy coming to our lives, and allow us to become a better being, although the process could be painful; Thirdly, thank God give me this relatively "quiet and spacy" time to seek more knowledge and confidence for what I do. I went to more than 10 seminars and learned a lot which is good for my soul. This year I totally changed my style of practicing, feeling bored of the old style and finally got attached with the "new acupuncture", which I see more satisfactory results in a quicker way. And my mind is so fertile any minute I updated my thinking and approach. Thank again for my clients, you are also my teacher, everyone showed me a unique side and unique response in this exciting new experiment. Warren Buffet in a recent talk mentioned that why he bought lots of share for Burlington North, the rail road company, is because he had seen the future of it, not in one week or two, but in the next 30 years, and he is willing to gamble for it for 34billion, for me I had the same feeling that, in the next 30 years to come, I will gamble acupuncture practice will be like a miracle flower that every corner of Americal will enjoy the fragrance of it, I will bet with the rest of my life and I believe more and more people who never tried it will eventually find this treasure in their life path.

Guess? Guess! Gas!

This year carries a lot of earth energy, the transformation energy, and this fall from october 18 to November 18th, the "Shu" time, is a very strong Yang earth element, that is why in the past 2 weeks, I see so many people suffered access stomach problem, like gas and bloating, diarrhea and constipation. Our natural rhyme is disturbed so that even the most organized and displined people had a feeling of loss and overwhelm. One time one of my infertility client felt a very sharp pain in her lower abdomen, she thought she could have the miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, because the pain is so severe that she had to run to the emergency room. After an ultrasound and several blood test, she was told that the baby is fine and the pain was caused by gas. Then she remembered that that afternoon she ate some beans, which caused the gas and the whole trouble. In TCM, many acute pain and digestion problems can be catagarized as "Qi" stagnation, as a result of Qi stagnation, gas is a term to describe that the Qi stopped moving down in the stomach in its natural direction or intestines due to weather change (like now), due to worry or overthinking, due to anger or sitting too long without proper exercise, etc. So don't feel panic if you have a situation like pain or gas, first we need to find out the reason then we can work it out. People feel lots of fear of the body is because we don't understand how our body worked. The most important is, keep councious about how you feel, that is unique to yourself and get professional help if your body give you the imbalance signal so that you can fix it before it turned to a big problem, in Chinese we say "Fang Wei Du Jian", meaning be careful of the minor signs to avoid the accumulation of the problem to turn big.

Memory of Jasmine Flower

When I grew up in my grandparents' home in China, there were many potted plants in the house, a huge jade plant, a king orchid plant and a jasmine flower plant. It is about the length of an arm, and not big, but whenever it flowers, the whole room is so fragrant that lifted my spirit in my childhood. When the jasmine flower withered, my grandpa will carefully collect them in a metal jar and dried them. Then he will mix the dried flower with the green tea in a sealed bamboo box. I can see the expression that when he drank the jasmine tea, his wrinkled face became more relaxed, like a baby. We have the most traditional wall clock, whenever it strikes the sound every hour, it carried the most ancient feeling and peace in my heart. The sound is dull, not sharp but very soothing somehow, and my grandpa will weave a fish net in our yard in a very sunny afternoon. That is the most beautiful picture in my mind, even till today. Jasmine flower can be very sensual and sexy as well, it is very feminine, once I saw a lady wear a jasmine flower wreath, she is so pretty with the soft loving energy of Jasmine flower. It reminds me the careless, free playing youth time and my beloved grandparents. Now they both dead, but the memory still with me, forever.

Another Surprise for the same client

I saw this client I mentioned 2 days ago, today he surprised me one more time. I was ready to see his shrinked figure in his wheelchair, but instead, he walked in with a walker and he looked much stronger than 2 days ago. I checked his muscle and surprisingly saw that 20 to 30% of the lost muscle size came back, in 2 days! He felt better, slept better plus looked better! Most importantly, I didn't smell the methotrexate like last time during the session, it must be detoxed well somehow, I am so happy!

A Shock for me seeing a client like.....

Today, I saw a client I haven't seen for a year? He used to be very muscular, very hansome and very tall. I can't believe my eyes he is so small right now and is in the wheelchair, can't drive, can't work. This is the client playing golf frequently and in a managing position in a big company, why he is like this? His wife told me that he lost 60 LBs in one month after being diagnosed with Lupus, then the chemo drug methotrexate was used which killed his appetite, now he lost most of his muscles in his left thigh and some in his right. Although he used folic acid to reduce the side effect, the side effect of lung& liver damage still existing. I remembered I treated several clients with lupus, they all have breathing problems (lung problems), how can lupus involve with mobility, plus if not energy from breathing and food due to poor appetite, how a person can thrive? I doubt the diagnosis and I advised to him to redo the test to confirm. It is a real shock to me, that the practice of medicine today is not non-invasive anymore!

Herb magic for Fertility

I don't know why I am so in tune with plants, especially flowers and herbs, whenever I am in a garden, it is like a heaven for me, sun or rain, whenever I see the flowers I admire, I gentlely touch their face with my fingertips, and smell her unique scent, the ID, which is full of different personality and spirits, talking to me in a silent language, my heart is melted and happy. I am like a little girl digging the dirt in and out especially I like to multiply my flowers and herbs, that is why I also like to work with infertility, help clients to multiply their eggs and sperms under my fingertips. Although I joked to my clients that men are like bushes who don't need too much care and women are like flowers who need the fertilizer (supplements) and tender care more and also needed to be pampered from time to time just like we say loving words to the flowers to recognize their beauty. A woman is treated like a flower is happy and a woman is treated like bush is in trouble. The feeling of creating the new life is the most wonderful and rewarding experience in the world, and it lasts as well, not like after the dinner you desired, you are full and done with it, you can never satisfy the desire from your heart and spirit. When I read this book about herbal magic, it talks about what herb to use to enhance fertility, it is so amazing. Do you know that in a pomgranate there is 365 seeds inside, like 365 days in a year, one folk lore mentioned by throwing a pomgranate hard to the floor and count the seed, it will tell how many children you will have. The trouble is nowadays, by using contraceptives, everything predictable becomes unpredictable. Manpower over nature, it is like a woman has a perfect cycle, like a Switzerland made very accurately running clock, by abusing the body with hormones, the cycle is changing like unaccurate clock. We can see in the bible people can have a big family, some may give birth at age of 90 and people live as long as several hundreds without using contraceptives. I admire the power of the nature and my suggestion to you, is eating more pomgranate for women and figs for men! (modern research does show that the pomgranate has natural female hormone which supports the antiaging and beauty, in TCM a blood tonic for women. In my Yard, I bought 2 newest Pomgranate trees called "Angle Red", you suppose to chew the seeds as well, I paid $250.00, kind of expensive. Last year I planted them in my front yard, they are green. This year no sprouts from the tree till August, one tree died and another I thought it was died as well. But in August (instead of March), it sprouts and grow greener and greener, and we even multiply some new shoots, to me it is like a miracle. Life is a miracle!

BaZi and Infertility

Recently I am studying BaZi----Chinese Astrology Reading, for increase the success of treating infertility. The art of BaZi is very complicated and the reading result can varies depending on the sensitivity level of the practitioner. Based on the year, month, day and hour (indicate daylight saving time or not) of the client, 8 Chinese words will be layed out in 4 lines as the basic BaZi structure, Ba in Chinese means eight and Zi in Chinese means Words, also called Four pillars. A lifetime progression will be layed out every 10 years apart, with our current year 2009, the Chinese Calendar code is JiSi, the first half year is dominated by the energy of Ji, earth energy, that is why so many people went through the transition of life, the energy of earth, some people also died in this first part of 2009, and returned to earth where we come from. The second half part of 2009 is dominated by the code "Si", fire energy like snake, that is not a pure fire, meaning it carries lots of shift and change, especially it conflicts "hai" the symbol for religion and serious thinking, so some conflict may happen in the Church. Recently our church has to move out of the current location after 13 years of operation, which gives the example of the confliction. Another example of the conflict is that in Georgia so much rain happened to a flood level, that we all feel weird. Because Fall and Winter should carry metal and water energy, the natural cool energy, but the year has a code "Si" in the Fall and Winter, which symbolize the fire energy and opposite than the natural flow, so the weather is totally off. I looked at next year 2010, the symbol is "Geng Yin", first part of next year is cold and second part is warm, also not in rhyme with nature, so we have to prepare for the changing situation again. Based on the analysis, I can make a better decision for my clients when is the best time to conceive and if they choose to do IUI and IVF, I can help select the best season, the best day or even the best hour. A lot of information about the personality, the strength and weakness can be revealed in a person's BaZi, so we can use the appropriate treatment for infertility clients, and I have read over 80 to 100 BaZi for free for my clients in the past 2 month and gained some valuable insights. I believe by exploring more knowledge of this old art, more success will be achieved to help my clients get a baby.

Integrative Oncology is the combination of “mainstream” care and evidenced-based complimentary therapies to control cancer-related pain and symptoms [source: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Integrative Medicine]. Complementary therapies, while not given the attention that more traditional cancer therapies may receive, are perhaps equally important while undergoing treatment for certain types of cancer, including malignant mesothelioma. Patients diagnosed with difficult to treat malignancies will often use these types of therapies in conjunction with traditional treatment options, which include surgery, chemotherapy, or radiology, to form a more comprehensive and effective treatment regimen. While these potent drugs can be effective in eliminating some of the tumor mass and growth, they also profoundly affect the health of the surrounding tissue. Symptoms experienced by those undergoing mainstream cancer treatments include fever, nausea, and debilitating pain.
Patients who undergo acupuncture in conjunction with mainstream cancer therapies have experienced dramatic reductions in pain and feel that their energy and mental wellbeing was restored. Cancer patients who feel energized, are pain-free and have a solid state of mind are more likely to withstand traditional methods of cancer treatment and have an increased survival rate.
Acupuncture is said to be so effective, in fact, that the World Health Organization [WHO] has recognized acupuncture as a successful intervention for adverse reactions to radiation and chemotherapy. The National Institute of Health [NIH] also agreed that acupuncture may relieve nausea and pain experienced by cancer sufferers, and the organization supports acupuncture clinical trials.
While this ancient method of therapy may be extremely effective for some, acupuncture may not be recommended for all cancer patients. Those who have a history of endocarditis, neutropenia or thrombocytopenia should not undergo acupuncture. Individuals with lymphedema or those who have a pacemaker should speak with a physician before beginning any course of acupuncture therapy.
While oncologists like Dr. Stephen Rush of the NYU Medical Center in New York, NY continue to work towards a cure, those who practice the ancient art of acupuncture will be working to help cancer sufferers experience a better quality of life and an increased rate of survival. As one of my client, 42 years old, told me that she was successful with pregnancy for a triplet (and will have babies at 43 years old),I am so happy for her. I roughly can remember that I helped at least 13 cases of infertility,of the 13 cases,2 with triplets, one is 36 yrs old, the other 42 yrs old. Both first time pregnant. One had a twin, and one delivered twin (one girl, one boy). Some clients will show up after 3 to 4 years to conceive for the 2nd baby then I realized they had one baby already since last time we met. This year is a fertile year for me, all this 13 cases of infertility, clients age are from 35 yrs old to 45 years old, most of them had history of high FSH, failed IUIs and IVFs or miscarriage or endometriosis. And of course my favorite is always successful with those unexplained, I can always find something wrong, thank God give me this gift of pickiness and I can use it for good purpose. Minimum acupuncture treatment is 1 and maximum treatments are 26. The one had 26 treatments is the case that has male factors and couple of miscarriages, now she had a triplet, so I won't feel guilty why it takes long to make it happen. In our office, I am the person who saves the "throw away" bamboos and cut the dead leaves and plant them again in the water, great pleasure I have is I watch them grow new root and thrive again. The same things happened to my practice, whenever there is an infertility case that can't be solved or quitted by other doctors or acupuncturists, I am very excited to help to see that the end result can be as good as it gets. I truly believe that in this life path, I was blessed to see that by helping clients with infertility, I see the power of faith, trust and love blossom at the form of a baby, our new lives, in order to achieve this rejuvenation, we have to give up some old habbits and something we hold for no reason but fear, by the time after the sacrifice of the change of old self, we hug our new form of life and never go back.

This past weekend I went to CAAG continue education seminar from 12 to 8p.m., Dr. He presented a talk about the mechanism of how acupuncture works based on endorphine release. Multiple charts and research papers were discussed and many animal based results were reviewed before and after acupuncture. It is very informative. It offers the scientific side of understanding why acupuncture works for pain relief and why after 10 acupuncture sessions patients do need to relax for 5-10 days to make the system react like new again. Like any other therapy, there is a curve of starting treatment, the body responded with more endorphine release, with treatment goes everyday, after the peak of endorphine, the reaction will go down. This reminds all acupuncturists how to utilize the ideal time frame and the frequency to improve the pain threshold as quick as possible. And after the initial stage, how to adjust the treatment plan for the body to relax and respond better for next stage. In short, acupuncture is really effective for quick relief for many symptoms, in long term, just the science part won't last long, we have to apply the healing sense part. Each acupuncturist has a different sensitivity level, how much intuition, details and creativity can be involved will determine the lasting result. To be in the nature, to be close to the mother earth can help me understand better how our body and minds work. The nature has four seasonal change to reflect the balance between heaven and earth, our body is a microsystem which reflects this universal relationship. Doing meditation, playing music, smelling flowers and gardening can improve one's intelligent level and offers great insights. So in short, the healing needs more sense than science, and it makes sense that healing is a practice of natural art and it is a great art to carry from generation to generation.

Urinate one gallon after acupuncture

This female client came to me for weight loss. She got very puffy lface,legs and arms, usually refered to as cellulites, and very tired and can't stand long. I began her first acupuncture treatment and 30 mins later, she called me to stop the treatment because she had a strong urge to go to the restroom. After coming back, she told me that she urinated for one gallon! Her puffy legs did seem to improve and next couple of weeks she came, she told me that she lost 14lbs and energy is so high that right after acupuncture she has to swim or hike. I laughed and told her that another time after acupuncture, one of my clients complained that she got too much energy that the same day after acupuncture, she cleaned her big house by herself which she couldn't do for years! I kept telling them that keeping the energy for healing not cleaning, but the fact is they can't help doing it! It is better to have more energy anyway and you can decide what to do with it. Liver cirrhosis and hepatitis client

This client came to me with liver cirrhosis and hepatitis C. He complained about diarrhea, nausea, poor appetite, extreme fatigue, poor sleep and anger. I strated working on his liver meridian and guess what? After the first session, he felt a lot of energy, diarrhea and nausea improved a lot and mentally he is calm and happy. I continued acupuncture and some herbs for a month or two, now I can say that he looked more energetic than I do. A while ago I treated another client with HIV positive and hepatitis C,who didn't respond well to interferon, after couple of months with acupuncture and herbs, I did EMI meridian test, which showed all his meridians within normal range, and I also tested his saliva and found out he had parasites which caused chronic diarrhea and weight loss, he looked so slim that you can tell it is the malnutrition type. He tested regularly from his physician and told me that by the time I told him the meridian test was normal, his lab test came back with HIV negative and hepatitis negative (normal), only one liver enzyme increased a little but decreased a lot comparing to his last test a couple of months ago. His doctor can't believe it happened. He was so excited and took some antibiotics for the parasites for 1 month. Now he doesn't have diarrhea or fatigue and feels great. His weight starts gaining and his face you can tell is more shining and vibrant. He is more alive. I don't understand why acupuncture can be so powerful sometimes to heal the impossible cases, but I do know that our body was designed in a way that is healable. With the right push, it can go far. With the wrong push, it will go the opposite direction far. The choice is yours, to be or not to be?

A smarter baby with mom's morning sickness during pregnancy?

I just read that in one research for pregnant women who suffered morning sickness (nausea, vomitting, poor appetite, etc), their babies will have more intelligent development later in their lives. This research was done in Canada, and 80% women usually will experience morning sickness around 4th week of the pregnancy, the hormonal surge (major HCG and progesterone increase) will enhance the nervous development according to the research, and the more morning sickness the pregnant women suffer, the smarter the babies will become later in their lives. They will have better memory, better language communicating skills and better mathematic and digits memory compared to the group with dilectin, morning sickness group and no moring sickness group. If this is true, it proves one more time "No pain, no gain", whenever something looked bad happened to the mom, something looked good happened to the child, I also found that my clients with morning sickness usually had less or no cases of miscarriage compared to those without. One exclusive exception is that with acupuncture treatment in the first trimester, the pregnant women may or may not feel much of the morning sickness but their babies still very healthy and smart.

Two weeks ago I took Dr. Richard Tan's seminar, talking about balancing method with Ba-Kua knowledge. The first day I returned to my office, several messages were from this special client, then I thought, well, this is the person who needs balance. It happened in the past, whenever I took some seminars, I always got clients in need of the treatment taught in the seminar. I called her and scheduled her immediately. She can't wait to get corrected. She got right ankle pain, neck and low back pain after several major car accident. In one accident, she was hit 3-4 feet away by a big truck. Emotional fear, depression, insomnia just name a few, plus she works in a pain clinic, everyday the clients she sees also intensifies her own pain feeling. Exciting Picturing of Real Ovulation Process---the very first to form life

In recent operation for a 45 years old woman who went through partial uterus cutting process, a rare picture of ovulation was captured. It was not a sudden exploding process like most scientist imagined, but the whole process lasted at least 15 minutes! I had some lucky cases for infertility treatment, the fact is, the more infertility clients I treat, the more luckier I get. One story is that one client try to conceive for her second baby, and she had a baby boy already but wanted a baby girl badly. Before seeing me, she had a miscarriage and failed to conceive for a year. After giving her an acupuncture treatment plus a herbal tea, she told me 2 weeks later that she was pregnant. I treated her till her labor, and she got another boy! She then conceived naturally and her third child is a baby girl. Another story is a teacher, who had trouble to conceive for 3 years. Being an acupuncturist, here is something necessary to be good: knowledge, calculating, communication, accuracy, intuition, creativity and, good luck. But why?
This is the profession which attracts people who are flexible and like challenge and has desire to change or modify. Because 80-90% of times, all the complaints are not listed in the textbook or as typical as a textbook describes. Even for the same complaint, different acupuncturist will have totally different approach. Some may work on your "stomach Qi", some may work on your "liver Qi", some may work on circulation, "blood stagnation", with proper explanation and understanding under a qualified practitioner, one may easily approach to his true self energy. A good acupuncturist is an artist, each session is different and therapy was created to fit the changing need of a person. It is not surprising to see good acupuncturists are also good artists, at least he should have a sharp eye to "see" what is going on in the body, that more involves the right brain and intuition. The left brain holds knowledge for current life, more logic and organized, but the right brain holds wisdom, which is the practicing knowledge from ages back, this can be gained through reading, listening and observing. Lots of time this brings ancient knowledge and wisdom to current modern life. A good acupuncturist has to be open, to absorb both new and old knowledge. It is not a repetitive technique, it is an art, that is why it can help diverse health issues with satisfactory results. That is not all, he should be able to apply them with accuracy and creativity that is life long learning and practicing process. But it is rewarding. Seperation Anxiety---Christie's 1st Week Preschool

This week means a lot to me. On Monday 03-03-08 is the date I chose for my daughter Christie to go to preschool, before this she was under my mom's care. This is the date also showed she was 3 years and 3 months old and I decided to let her go to Creme De La Creme 5 days a week. The first date, she cried and held me tightly, didn't look at other kids at all. I left with guity feeling. She was more excited after the 1st day. Next morning on Tuesday, she cried again with tiredness, but eventually she went without me. That evening, she cried a lot in my arm which makes me want to cry as well. Third day, she was less resistant and brought me home her art work: a cotton pasted bear head and flowers made from spagetti noodles. She looked more proud this time. The fouth day, she didn't cry at all and Friday, today, I went with her, by the time I left she was fine, quietly joined her little friends. Sometime and maybe all the time, when we talk about children having separation anxiety, we, as adults, aren't we the same? When we move from one city to another one, from one job to a new one, from one age to another, we always attached to what we used to know and feel more secure that way. From Christie, I see my own strength, if the direction is to make a positive change, we need to move on no matter what, otherwise you will move backward. There is never something in between, you go forward or backward. And the end result of making a change brings so big change you never thought of, and the whole process is not as desarstered as you thought.

Acupuncture---induce out of body experience?

Let me share with you some interesting experience as an acupuncturist for 10 years. The clients come from all walks of life, aged from 2 to 97 years old and come from over 40 nationalities. Every person has his unique experience. The most feeling people will share during acupuncture are pressure, heaviness, tingling, hot or cold (depends on what your body needs). some people may feel like unattached to reality, which is perfect for addiction or obsessive behavior. Some feel like the body is like a boat floating on the water. Some may see colors during the session with their eyes closed. One time, I treated one pregnant woman for high blood pressure, she told me that her body was out of the treatment table, flying to the ceiling and looked her body. That is out of body experience! And that only happened during acupuncture session! I read about some near death experience just like that. She told me she has such experience when she was very young, and later on she couldn't feel it anymore. With acupuncture, she experienced it again. This talk will allow me to think about acupuncture in a deeper way. it is not solely a technique but an efficient way to experience your past, your creativity and divine, your uncouncious level and spirit, the one that got inhibited by reality and counciousness. it is also an anti-oxidation process which brings you who you truly are. Some people may feel the old problems in the body during acupuncture, which is still waiting to be resolved. I see my job is like to push the right code to open a treasure box, very adventure seeking and truly awarding. No matter what complaints people bring to me, I see they are all from the inside. The true healing is to release the ages old emotional stress as much as possible. Too much time don't you think our body carries too much for too long? it is a time to release and rejuvenate, then you will be as happy as you can ever be.

Car Accidents---signs of implantation?

One friend told me one time that she got an car accident. Then she said, well, you never know, I got pregnant right afterwards. She considered the car accident, the bump, a sign of implantation. I also read a story happened in England: One woman had a car accident after an IVF procedure, one embryo then becomes four after the collison (most woman will lose the baby). She turned out to have a quardralets. Very interesting! I had one infertility client came to me one day after her IUI, which used her own egg and her husband's frozen sperm. After the IUI, her car was hit by somebody, she is very upset. I kept thinking of the story of my friend, I thought this was a good sign, the hitting could be an extra force to help the implantation. I considered the hitting brought fire energy which melted the frozen sperm to heat up this process. Soon after this visit, she told me she was pregnant, which confirmed my thinking, usually IUI has 25-40% sucess rate on the best side. See, the universe gives the signs before things happened. It doesn't say that every woman tries to conceive should bump her car, you never know the accurate force to be involved. My point is sometimes bad things happened can turn out to be a positive thing. And for things not happened, don't worry, the nature will let it happen at the right moment. Be patient for your reward.

Flu, Flu Shots &Others

The year in 2007 and 2008 is challenging for a lot of people, the flu season comes more frequent and more severe. It is due to the unpredicable environmental change, and a stressful lifestyle, many kids and adults are sick, can't leave bed. Solutions? Flu shots can't work as good as before any more because the strain of the flu virus keeps changing and flu shots are the ones known in the past to resist the old strain not the new one. For those immunity deficient people like people who suffer allergies, asthma, respiratory disease, HIV and other auto-immune disease, the flu can cause dramatic immune reaction. I had one female client one time, complaining about tingling all over her arm, and she did all test to see anything wrong with her heart and brain. All tests were normal. She came here and said she got all these problems after a flu shot in her son's school. Then I thought about mercury toxins, the one is used in flu shots for preserve purpose. One of the mercury toxins symptom is tingling without any reason. Some kids may have stronger reaction to their nerve system and may cause paralysis. It is rare to have this, but flu shots are not 100% safe. The best solution is to have a good sleep, balanced diet, washing hands frequently and if flu signs happened, like sore throat, fever, backache or fatigue, take herbs like flu tea, food like garlic and venegar can stop the signs quickly. Acupuncture and cupping are other effective ways to fight flu efficiently especially for children.

My Birth Experience

According to my mom, she had trouble to give birth to me. It was a small town that I was born in China, too small that even she had danger in labor that no big hospital around to do a C-section. She had the contractions, but after the amniotic fluid gone for a day, I was still inside the uterus. The nurse had 3 shifts and saw my mom still suffering, they really worried but couldn't do anything. My mom lost a lot of blood and we both survived this labor marathone. She fainted and I was pulled out. I didn't cry because lack of oxygen for so long. The doctor had to beat my butt so I reluctantly cried a little like a cat. That is my birth story. When I conceived my daughter christie, my mom was so worried that I would have her experience again. I was not afraid, however, because I started to use acupressure and acupuncture for this new experience. The day I was in labor, I worked whole day long, it was on Thursday, raining outside on 12-22-2004, I can feel the strong contractions 3-4 times per hour, some seemed hard to bear, then I put some magnets on my ear to massage, it reduced the pain to tolerable. By the time I drove home with pain at 7p.m., I had no appetite, however I vomited a lot, it felt great and cleaned. My husband then said we should go to the hospital to check. By the time I was in the hospital around 8:30p.m, the uterus already opened 4-5cms and I immediately started the labor process. The midwife looked at me and said: "you selected natural birth no epidural?" I said yes. Then she told me to relax in the bathtub, she thought it should take me longer for the real labor, it didn't. I immediately had the worse feeling ever: both severe uterus contraction pain and bad feeling of constipation overwhelmed me and I kept massaging my ear point, which made the pain more frequent, every breath was like pain, the worst I ever experienced. I told the midwife what I felt, and she came to the room right away with some helpers. Now they can see the baby head a little and I massage the uterus point strongly and asked my husband to massage my Hegu point on my hand, there was a big bruise there already. Every time I pushed the ear point, I had a strong contraction, several push later, my baby was out successfully. I felt a big relief. it was 12:50a.m. on 12-23-2004. I was still weak physically but mentally I was very clear. The midwife kept asking me where was the ear point to help the pain and the labor, I told her and she was very excited. There was one nurse told me that I was the first case in her 3 months practice here without epidural for labor pain and acted like I had one. My baby cried very loud compared to those babies whose mother received epidural. They were still sleepy. This is a very precious experience, and I tried all the efforts to stop pain and I knew what works the best. Now I teach my client who will go through labor and share my experience with them. I want to say, there is another way working great for pain, epidural is not the only option. We are women and have the most tolerable abilities to bear, it is truly amazing how nature gives us such wonderful opportunity to challenge our physical and mental limit.

Weight Loss Stories

when I first started my acupuncture practice, 3 people wanted to visit me before I had a real office. The first 3 clients I saw, one had neck bulging disk, the other 2 are couples, one suffer high blood pressure and the other wanted to lose weight. For the one who wanted to lose weight, he was a judge in a county, suffering daily stress , also had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and tremendous shoulder, neck and back pain. I gave him the acupuncture and a herb called Hawthorn, next visit, he showed me his belt aroung the waist, which is 3-4 inches less! His blood pressur and cholesterol were lowered as well. Before acupuncture, when he entered the office, I saw his belly fist, now I can see his slimmer face first instead. Wa! Good work! I called it my "beginners' luck". Later on, when I moved to Georgia, I met some challenged cases. Some people had trouble losing weight no matter what they tried. I started using different formulars. Because the environment is different, Atlanta is more humid, hot and the weather can be any combination. So I see the most diversified cases of weight gain. The most common cause can be from stress, poor diet like fried and processed food, skipping meals, travels frequently between different time zones, poor sleep, hypothyroid, PMS, menopause and after labor fatigue. Approaches can be used are like acupuncture, especially electric acupuncture, acupressure, lymphatic massage, foot reflexology, Chinese herbs can be prescribed to meet unique energy pattern, food and diet tips are also included for each client. Detox is another useful tool to enhance metablism. One client came with hypothyroid, fibramylgia, chronic fatigue and stress in neck and back. After acupuncture, she felt surge of energy and desire to clean her house. Everything improved except her weight. Then I use ear staples and Chinese herbs, not much change, then I tried some natural supplements for hypothyroid, a little change starts to happen. By the time I felt frustrated and wanted to give up, she showed up one day and told me she finally lost 25 Lbs! I took a deep breath and I thought it is like a marathone. The end result paid for the patience. Be there to support, both physically and mentally, and be open to all approaches and see which works the best. And my next step? I have something new to test and integrate into my weight loss program.

Shoulder Pain Stories

Sometimes I believe my energy will attract the people of similar energy. One day my shoulder hurt and my arm felt weak. Then the same day I received at least 4 calls asking for appointment to help shoulder pain. I saw the first woman coming in who is a foot reflexologist. I use acupuncture on her leg and ask if she can move her shoulder at the same time to see the difference. She reported to me that immediately the pain was gone. Then I showed her the same spot and told her: "From now on, you can be a shoulder pain specialist, the point I showed you is a curable spot you can use to help your clients." She was very happy and left the office. On her next visit she told me that after she returned to her clinic, several patients referred to her by a chiropractor all complained shoulder pain in the same day! she used the spot I showed her to work on them, they all got better immediately! What a chain reaction and perfect timing, now I know that every person comes to me for a very special reason, and I should take good care of each one because they will help many more others to make a difference. Another time i have several "frozen shoulder" ones showed up, one can't dress or undress in the treatment room. I did a intense acupressure on her hands and legs, by the time she left, she had the strength and flexibility to put her clothes on. She said that was a miracle. Thankful to the ancesters who discovered and developed the healing technique of what I do today, I am truly lucky to be selected as witness to miracles. It is great!

Thoughts on Health and Wealth

There is always an embarrassment to face when some of your clients try to bargain. Excuses? "Well, I don't have time, I'll think about doing acupuncture later. ", "I have to wait till my payday.", or "I saw my friends got better now, I may do it in the future." In terms of getting healthy, people seem to have a tendency to postpone and procrstinate at a sake of work or other family things to take care of. In this country, people overworked or at least put work first a lot of times at a price of their bodies. Result? Whenever you are sick someday, you become confused. You may say, " I don't understand why I have this pain, it never happen before." or " I am very healthy overall." We are positive that we are very healthy, another word to say is we are not aware of how our body works and why it can be sick. To compare health and wealth, let's say the more efforts you do for your health is like the money you put in your bank for your wealth accumulation. In is long term till the moment you leave this world, you have to plan carefully, it is not like 7 month CD and earn a short term interest gain, remember, you spend your health every minute in everything you do including sleeping. Check to see did you do anything positive for your body or soul everyday? Or the opposite did you abuse your body or soul instead? If you had a new experience which made you feel happy and energetic and rejuvenating, add 1 point, if anything you did make you sad, fatigued or unhappy, then reduce 1 point. How long you can spend your health depends on how you use your body and emotion. If nothing positive or negative happened, at least there is no change, you can maintain this way. There is a limit for your health, we are aging. If lucky, you have some aged money, you don't worry financially or you may inherit some money as well, not your health. You have to learn to take care of yourself today, get more connected with yourself not anything else. Read and do more things to make you feel healthier. Massage, Yoga, pray, read health topics, trust and listen to your body, talking to friends, acupuncture , classic music and beautiful arts, natural herbs and whole foods, can all make a positive change in our health.

Thoughts on Radiation from cellphone

You may heard many stories already the questionable risk of using cellphones. How risky? Cancer! I had a good friend who is a realtor constantly on cellphones. One day she called me and wanted have a check up on her because she didn't feel well, and she even thought she had a heart problems. There was nothing wrong with her except she had a big tumor on her right face where she leaned her cellphone on. Later on she took a surgery and she also quitted her job. Another client always complaining fatigue, it is actually adrenal fatigue. One day she told me that she felt funny on her face, some tingling and shooting sensation that never happen before, then I checked her, it is a sesame seed size brown mole, well insulated, doesn't look bad. The infertility story brought my tears

When I looked at the wall with all the babies, there is a baby boy very special to me. His mom suffered infertility for a couple of years, before coming to me, she got at least one year of acupuncture treatment by another acupuncturist. So here is the challenge: why she still suffer infertility? Why one year acupuncture didn't work? What I can do for her? She is one of the most sweetest woman you can ever met, very caring, warm and friendly. I still remember the first time I met the couple in my Sandy Spring office 3 years ago, the small treatment room began to shake because they are very tall, I had to look upon them like gazing 2 big trees. We sat close to each other and I can really felt the anxiety, frustration and eagerness from them. The story is long, and my head started running and I felt dizzy. Anyway, all I wish to happen is finishing the talks as soon as possible and put some needles on her, that way I was sure to be grounded more and had better control to guide them. Fortunately, after the acupuncture session she was very soft and relaxed. And I did some acupressure as well. She talked a lot, which is good to release the mental stress. Later, she was happier and calmer, but one day she looked sad. I asked what happened, she said her best friend who used to have miscarriage now got pregnant. She felt envious and powerless. Well, I said you are close. Whenever you saw every woman around you got pregnant, you would be the next. Because you attracted similar energy from them which is good for you. She smiled, in a bitter way, I know deeply in her heart, she craves a baby. Several months passed, I want her to do a laproscopy, she found then she had a stage 4 endometriosis. She was happy to find sth is wrong, so she did a surgery. One day she came and told me that she visited a new fertility doctor, Dr. Lisa Hasty? And she decided to do an IUI. The same week, during one visit, she said she was fired. What? I felt so surprised, she was very hard working, always worked on weekends and she had a very good relationship in the company. She told me everybody in the company tried to keep her except her boss. The reason was she refused to work on Saturdays. She looked at me, begging: " Dr. Liu, can you help? Try your best?" Story of Tim, a MS patient

Sometimes I will get client in a very unexpected way. One day when I was concentrating on my clinical notes, a client showed up without appointment. He was in a wheelchair and his face was pale. He insisted that he emailed me a couple of times before he came. I still can't remember I did that, but anyway there is no reason I should reject him either. The other 2 acupuncturists insist that he was not their clients, so I just picked him as my new client, he waited an hour in the wheelchair already and drove from a very far place in town. He told me his story that he almost died after an motor accident. He was in the hospital diagnosed with severe fracture and coma, next step is death and his organs almost were taken out for donation and the doctor stopped doing anything because he was in a very bad shape. Then his wife wanted to quit, while his mother still believed that there was one more chance. Sb prayed, he guessed, then strange thing happened. His eyelid moved and some vital signs came back. The doctors then started operating on him to put his broken bones together. He recalled later that he saw God and his body left the table during that moment. Anyway, that was him now in wheelchair, diagnosed with MS because of brain damage. He can't lift his right arm very much and muscle weakness in his legs gave him the "scissors steps" looking. I gave him the first acupuncture treatment, during the session, his legs strated to shake like crazy. This is the "De Qi" sensation for neuromuscular issues, and he felt a good strength after the treatment. I continued to treat him 3 times a week, plus foot reflexology for a couple of month. Then I showed his some acupressure technique for him to practice at home. When my foot reflexologist reported to me last time, Tim can walk around in his house without wheelchair and cane! What a miracle of life! I hope he will continue to feel better and stronger every day.

Disease from Mouth

There is a Chinese saying: "All disease are from Mouth." That means whatever the wrong food you eat can cause health problems. When I moved from China to America 12 years ago, I have to make a major adjustment in my diet from hot, cooked to cold and raw. The result is that I develop more bloating and diarrhea. Then I have to switch back to more of our traditional diet. It is very time consuming to select the most fresh vegetables and all kinds of sauces, reading labels to prevent any bad stuff like MSG, partially dehydronated oil, food coloring or any other artificial flavors. My body then gets pickier, I will have migraine if I eat any food with MSG, and I'll have diarrhea immediately after eating raw tomatoes. I even developed allergies to pollen 5 years ago. Interesting! So the good thing about eating healthy and eat the right type of food is that, you trained yourself about eating the right type for you and the body can remember it; if you eat something wrong, you can tell how unique you will react to it. But people keep eating the wrong food, like wheat or gluten, for people allergic to them, they are like swollow toxins everyday. Then a lot of "toxic symptoms" show up later in life----IBS, psoriasis, eczema, asthma, fatigue, fibromylgia, just named a few. Parasites are a popular guest in people who are vegetarian or consume lots of raw food, sushi, etc. So the weight loss, sallow face, fatigue, bloating and chronic diarrhea are all connected with parasites. If you complain about these, you should do a GI panel test through saliva and stool to rule it out. The disease caused by wrong food is not only connected with common digestion issues but also auto-immune disorders.
